Time to put down the flame throwers and pack the crying towel away
With Edwards out of the race (although he's probably still on the ballot in many states for Super Tuesday and you can still vote for him)

our choices are down to Obama and Clinton.

Like it or not - these are our choices if you plan on voting for a Dem. ( I have heard rumors that Nader is jumping in again - so you also have the choice of sitting out the primary and voting for Nader in the general election)

There is alot of wailing and handwringing that neither Clinton or Obama can beat McCain in the general election. So what are YOU going to do about it? Not vote? Give up? Resign yourself to another 4 years of complaining about a repub in the white house?

We've discussed a brazillian times how we need someone to unite the country. But during this primary madness all I've seen is dis-unity, fractures and in-fighting.

What makes a leader? A leader has followers. Whether the leader moves us in the right or wrong direction will depend on the followers. If a leader has no followers then there is no leader.

so stop beating up on each other, put away the flame throwers, fold up that crying towel and start working together.

Unity starts with us

8. if there are any left
they've ripped each other apart and we've been like scavengers nipping at what's left over

repubs don't need a swift-boat this year - we've done it for them

5. you joining the apathetic?
I didn't wail or weep or lament when Biden dropped out, I didn't beat my breast and sprinkle ashes on my head when Kuchinich dropped out, and I'm certainly not going to bury my face in a box of tissues because Edwards has dropped out.

I'm in PA - our primary isn't until end of April, I had no realistic expectations that any of the candidates I liked would be either viable or on the ballot by that time

I have my reservations about Obama and Clinton - but I have even more concerns about McCain or Romney or any other repub on the ballot

so I can stay home and not vote in the primary and let others make the decision for me or I can at least make my choice known in some small way

as far as super tuesday goes - Most states will still have Edwards on the ballot as they probably won't have the time to take his name off. this means you can still vote for him, or write in somebody else. That's your choice, it's your vote - USE IT

6. guess it's all over.. might as well just stay home
let's just cancel the elections completely and go straight to inaugurating McCain

putting on my flame-retardent suit:

Edwards has been pretty much a distant third throughout the primary campaign season. At best, he could only hope to garner enough delegates to throw his weight in with either Obama or Clinton and pray it would make a difference.

I don't see him accepting a VP slot behind Clinton, and if Obama is going to run on CHANGE he's going to need a "fresh face" standing next to him. Regardless, I don't think Edwards would be willing to take the second chair, a position in the cabinet maybe.

NOT VOTING is NOT AN OPTION. Staying home and pouting because your candidate is not on the ballot is just stupid.

yeah, things "MIGHT" not change with Obama or Clinton in the oval office, but it sure as hell will get worse if there's a repub butt in that chair

9. I'm not sure what you're looking for...

I don't care which of the only two candidates that ever mattered to the press gets the nod... I really don't.

I'll vote for Edwards in the primary anyway, and the nominee in the GE.

10. Redqueen, that is my plan as well.
Neither of the two remaining candidates have proven they deserve my vote in the primaries.

I will hold my nose I vote for one of them in the GE too.

12. just looking for people to put down their flamethrowers
and realize we have to find some common ground and work together.

at the rate we've been going with tearing down the candidates and each other - the repubs won't need a hit squad swift-boat group, all they need is us

13. It should be clear to everyone by now that we all know we share common ground...
and the vast majority of us will vote for the nominee.

As for working... well the remaining two have TONS of money - literally. So... I think they're in pretty good shape and don't need my help.

The repubs have been working at it already, no doubt... and it's sad to see many here picking up that ball and running with it... but honestly the stuff that's posted here isn't shit compared to what they'll trot out in the GE. We're pikers compared to those that run the Mighty Wurlitzer. Fact.

11. Neither Clinton nor Obama get my primary (well, caucus) vote
I'll caucus "Uncommitted", thank you very much.

Whichever one ends up the nominee (six of one, a half dozen of the other) will get my vote in the General. And that's all they'll get.
