2. on a smaller scale that happened in Elko, NV! Only funnier!
Hillary's event was earlier with around 1,200, people headed to the top of the hill to attend. around 2:30 ish, over 50% of them starting leaving while she was talking. She said something to them about how she understood they had to pick their kids up as school was getting out ...then a streamline of cars headed over the high school, down the hill, and over 2,000 people were there for Obama!

8. At noon today Bill drew a crowd of over 5000 in Norman, Oklahoma

Six of my friends (one male and five females) attended. The crowd was mostly students. Bill talked for almost an hour and a half and it seemed like twenty minutes. Two of my friends planned to attend a private reception after the event but they all ended up going to the reception. Two of them had previously donated $1,000 but all of them ended up writing checks for the maximum amount.

I spent two hours this afternoon and evening on the phone listening to their reactions as they talked about Bill's presentation, discussed every point he made, and talked about what they had learned. They were totally excited as they whooped it up and bitched about obnoxious male behavior toward strong women. All of these women certainly fall into the category of strong women. They are charged up and have volunteered to do any job that needs to be done to help Hillary win Oklahoma. This group could move the 5th army across France with twenty minutes notice if need be.

Interestingly, all of these women were life long Republicans until recently. This was their first time to attend a Democratic event. They wanted to attend today because they like Hillary, they think she is not receiving fair treatment, and they are totally pissed off at the press pile on and the press promotion of Obama.

BTW - they are all around 60 and are keenly aware of Obama's problem with boomers. In fact, that is what started their transitions. Further, the one male in their group is gay and all of these women are angry that he can not marry his partner of 26 years. They are, of course, aware of the McClurkin thing in S.C. Oh, on another note, they have all stopped watching Oprah.

Have a good night.

10. You have friends who are able to donate $2300 each?
No wonder they are Republicans.

Women of a Certain Age = Hillary's BASE

13. Yes I do. Actually - that is $4,600 each.
They are no longer Republicans.

In case you missed it - Obama has the over $200,000 a year crowd.

12. Fabulous. Obama is our next president.
We won't even need churches anymore. We'll build little White Houses and kneel to them.

15. It's interesting - 4 years ago Dean drew the big corwds
and look where that got him. By comparison, Kerry was still not drawing the biggest crowds and look where that got him.

19. In all fairness, (and I was there for the Obama event)....
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 04:05 AM by hlthe2b
It was snowing in Denver when Big Dawg came late in the evening, while Obama was due to be there at 8:30 in the morning.

As it turned out (and I was in line at 7:30 AM), we lined up for blocks until about 10:45 AM when they finally let about 9500 in, another 4000 or so were allowed into an overflow gymnasium and about 2000 more were sent to the LaCrosse Field adjacent, where Obama first addressed them. These figures were reported earlier, and are far more accurate (I was among the lucky to get inside the main venue, but was cell phoning a couple of friends much further back, who ended up on the lacrosse field).

But again, Bill competed with a night time venue in the snow. So, it is apples and oranges, though I admittedly decided I could only go to one (having nearly frozen my feet off in line that morning).
