Would either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama put Elizabeth and John Edwards on their websites....
if Edwards had dropped out next Wednesday, the day after "Super Tuesday," when the Edwards' stock would have been worth much less?

Last Saturday here in South Carolina, I voted for John Edwards, not only because I believe in his positions on the issues, but because I believed him when he said he would stay in the race for the long haul, and take the message to the convention. I believed him. That's my fault.

It appears now that he is using the timing (22 states voting next week) to angle for a position in the next administration. Call me a cynic, fine. Give me a better case for another reason.

And now, the two remaining candidates -- one of whom I like very much -- are both using the Edwards' images and words on their site. Next Wednesday, they wouldn't be pandering to Edwards supporters like that.

Call me a cynic, fine.

1. They would like Edwards' support whether this week or next week
This will not be over next week. Edwards has a big bloc of support that can swing things. They would have wanted him then too.

2. If there is no presumptive nominee after February 5...
...yes, they would both put his picture on their websites.

4. Another Edwards voter in SC
When it comes to Edwards I'm not quite so cynical ...

I think he just knew that he was never going to get a shot from the media - a killer for an underfunded campaign at a moment they were about to compete is 22 states. As much as he may have wanted it - a chance to realize his vision of this country - running for the last two campaigns had to finally taken its toll.

OK the media wants this historical moment - lets give it to them. Lets see if one of those historical candidates has the "backbone" to get it done.

We'll see...
