ABC NewsExclusive: Obama 'Would Love Edwards' Support'
In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Sen. Barack Obama said that he has let former Sen. John Edwards know that he would like his endorsement should Edwards decide to drop out of the race. While Obama did not admit to rumors of back-door-dealings for delegate sharing, he said that he would strongly welcome a nod from Edwards.

6. Why would you include superdelegates?
Once the candidate drops out the prior pledge of superdelegates mean nothing.

7. Yea but
that 15% of the dem voters that have voted for Edwards would sure look good as Obama votes and might just be enough to stop the Clintons-which is one of the reasons why my wife and I switched our support AND our votes over to Obama from Edwards yesterday down here in The Sunshine State

8. you bet, I'm all for Edwards endorsing Obama ASAP
But any rumors of back-door-dealings for delegate sharing are totally specious.

5. What's interesting
is that he said this yesterday, before this news broke. Did he have inside info on it?

9. I honestly think they're friends and talk. Whether that bodes well for
Obama remains to be seen. Just heard Edwards might not endorse anyone. But I've also read on DU that endorsements don't mean anything anyway. ;)

11. I'd be astonished if both Hillary and Barak knew about it beforehand.
You don't keep stuff like that secret, I don't think. These folks are all senators, fer chrissakes; they're all about wheelin' and dealin' and honoring handshake agreements.

13. It's a good thing Hillary didn't say she'd love his support....
They'd be screaming about snake-like dirty politics, now wouldn't they.

14. Talk about "warm bodies"
I honestly don't mind that Obama is a realist who thought Edwards might conclude to drop out, and that he has been lobbying him about it. But if it came out that Hillary Clinton had done this instead, DU would be totally up in arms about it.

15. obama's got to have more white votes...simple as that. and
Some people think if their candidate says, "There's no white America, there's no Black America, there's just the United States of America," then the Fascist bastards are going to start playing fair? You mean the Republicans are going to play fair, and show Obama respect? You mean like they played fair and showed Gore respect? You mean like they played fair and showed Kerry respect?
