2. Isn't that what Dean said also?
Oh, I'm at work so I can't answer your question.

3. Yes he did....

He also said he'll do everything he can to help Kerry get elected.

There's no magical legal status for a "suspended" campaign, despite what some Dean supporters think. It means he's out. Same thing applies to Dean.

4. Yes, that is what Dean's plan is too.
So Edwards keeps his delegates......Oh my.....what are we in for in July? This will keep me focused!

6. what are we in for?
A Kerry nomination on the first round of voting. A few rah-rah speeches, some boring stuff, a platform that will be fought over, then put in a filing cabinet with all the past platforms, then some more speeches.

10. I think this is a misconception.
When a candidate drops out and endorses another candidate, only his unpledged delegates are released.

Pledged delegates from primary votes and caucuses are bound by DNC rules to represent the candidate they were chosen for because the voters who chose them can't release them. I don't think even that candidate him or herself can tell them to vote for someone else on the first ballot.

They are only released if the first vote fails to produce a nominee. Since Kerry will go into the convention with more than 2162 delegates, it won't matter.

It's just a technical distinction that I could be wrong about, but I think that's how it goes.

7. actually there is
presuming that people who end the campaign follow up and take their names of the ballot. In most states that takes a simple letter. Once off the ballot you are in a way different state than those who are on it.

9. well
here in California, Lieberman, Moseley-Braun, Clark and Gephardt were all on the ballot. So I guess they're all running "suspended" campaigns, too.

11. Or maybe you just don't read what people write
I clearly stated IF THEY FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE REQUIREMENTS TO REMOVE THEIR NAMES FROM THE BALLOT.

8. Elliot Spitzer would be better, I think.
But VP would be a good choice....damn, I wish Al Gore had tapped him in 2000.
