Bush and Rove looking at electoral map *shaking heads*
"Well, how about Ohio?"

"No, too many jobs lost, they will likely go for Kerry too"

"New Hampshire? We won it last time"

"Come on, New England? That is Kerry's home turf, it's his state this time"

"Florida??"

"Well, only if we are lucky"

*Both men groan*

1. Good interactive map at Edwards website
There's one on the web where you can make your own projections, but I couldn't find it.

5. Florida???...
Brother Jeb is working on purging the voter rolls again! Too
bad Katherine Harris already left a bad taste amongst voters.
Of course the Southern states love the "Messenger from God" so the
Chimp's chances are pretty strong there--LOL!

7. Florida will be Red
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 03:18 PM by Nederland
Much as people around here hate him, the truth is the only reason Dems won Florida in 2000 was because of Joe Lieberman.

IMHO, unless Kerry picks someone like Bob Graham Florida will probably go for Bush in 2004.

6. ain't gonna get MI this time either
lots of jobs lost, MI went blue last time, BushCo had support from the large Arab-American population in metro Detroit, but I read in the local paper that this support may now be waning...
he ain't even trying for MI, and that's fine with me, cuz he ain't gonna win it.

8. New Hampshire, Ohio and Florida
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 03:20 PM by cmorea
If Bushco lose New Hampshire, Ohio and Florida, they would certainly lose the election. Even if they held the other Bush states from last time, AND got Oregon, New Mexico, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin -- all (just barely) Gore states in 2000 -- they would still fall 6 electors short.

Dems 363
Reptiles 175

Dems win entire Northeast, west coast and NM, AZ, NV, all states on border of Mississippi river (except MISS and KY), and Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. They lose Mountain west, deep south, Kentucky and Indiana.

11. Looking at the map...
seems like Ohio is key. A win in Ohio would give us the election even if Florida went in the R column and New Mexico went over to the dark side this time 'round, assuming Kerry wins the rest of the same states Gore won in 2004. And this without one Southern state...(haha).
