"Dean Scream."
Please stop asking if things are the next "Dean Scream." If you have to ask, it isn't. In fact, if you have to call it "the next Dean Scream," it isn't. You'll know the next Dean Scream when you hear it, and it would have to be unique and memorable of its own accord. Please, just listen to People-Powered Howard again:

Yes, I know he was trying to yell over the crowd noise, and the mic filtered out everything but his voice. But honestly, that video is unmistakably gripping. In the artificial context that was beamed into American homes, it was almost cartoonish. His voice was unrestrained, his face contorted, his gestures wild, his crecendo building, up to the unearthly "byah" that sounded (to me) like it had to have been a technical error. It was artificial, it was bogus, it was ridiculous, it was unfortunate, and it destroyed the candidacy of a good man with good policies, yes. But it was clearly something unique--something gripping.

All this shit about "the next Dean Scream" every time a candidate opens their mouth? Stupid.

5. I liked the pictures of Kerry windsurfing and I liked the Dean scream.
I thought it was awesome that a presidential candidate - a senator from Massachusetts - is such a good athlete! I thought it was wonderful that Dr. Dean - a physician who wanted to be president - cared enough about his campaign and his supporters to fire them up.

I don't let the corporate-owned media think for me.

8. Nah
that wasn't a "Dean scream" thing. It was damaging, and when I saw it, I knew it would hurt him. But it didn't make me go "oh well, it's over for him" like the Dean scream did. I was watching it with my brother and we just turned to each other, jaws open, and both said "it's over".

3. You desperately want it to be so, I know
But the "Next Scream" it is nonetheless.

Better luck some other year.

6. correct
I knew it was big as I was watching it on live TV. It was unmistakable and nothing in this campaign has even come remotely close.
