Smith to Kennedy: 'Agents of Change End Up Being Targets, As You Well Know'

I'm measuring my words carefully. Harry Smith has raised the possibility that Barack Obama's life could be in danger.

The Early Show anchor interviewed Ted Kennedy this morning in the wake of his endorsement of Obama yesterday. Smith's initial broaching of the subject of danger to Obama was very cryptic

2. I heard it and it was shocking. Kennedy did not react to the first question, which was about

"Change could be dangerous", so Smith continued, asking exactly the question you quote.

I thought it was incredible.

Sweeps of areas before he goes in, agents on rooftops surrounding events, armed Secret Service agents patrolling through the crowds.

Of course who would know better about assassinations than Kennedy?

I thought Kennedy responded with grace. But it was a terrible question.
