Noticed my sig line?
Through the entire primary season I've been ABB, even though I had a favorite (Dean). As each candidate has dropped I have removed their pic from my sig line, but tonight with Edwards dropping out the nomination is Kerry's. I apologize to the Kucinich folks (Heck, I voted for Dean today), but lets face facts - unless they find Kerry in bed with Fred Phelps and a young boy he's our guy.

Starting tomorrow, the media (aka Republican propaganda machine) will begin to try and take Kerry down. I'm asking everyone to put aside the hurt feelings and bruised egos. If you still want to vote ABK, that's your business and I support your right to vote for whoever you want, but this Nov will be the most important election in my lifetime. Bush has proven to be the worst president in US history. Around here, we like to refer to him as Chimpy, but frankly a real chimp could've done a better job and Kerry is a damned sight better than that. Do I think Kerry is perfect? No. I voted for Dean remember? Kerry has something that no other Democrat has though...a strong consensus of Democratic voters.

As of this moment I'm behind Kerry 100% and will do whatever I can to send him to the Whitehouse. I hope you'll all join me.

7. I'm about 99%
certain to vote for the Democratic nominee in November.

I am losing my last vestiges of faith in politics as a means of accomplishing anything useful for society though.

A dozen years ago, Universal Health Care was on the table for discussion. It got swept so far off the table, we're just now starting to whisper about it again; in those dozen years, more people have become uninsured, health care costs and profits have risen; nothing changed for the betterment of society. That's just one for instance.

9. I'm trying to learn/teach myself
that all you can do, is all you can do. You cannot carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Just try and leave this world a little better than when you came to into it.

10. that sounds like a worthy thing to learn
unfortunately, it conflicts with my god complex or guilt comlplex or what ever it is that makes me feel personally responsible for anything I am the least bit associated with.

14. A page from Wes Clark
Sorry to butt in here, but I relate. I've heard so many wonderful things from so many candidates. The thing Wes Clark said stuck with me most. How he says he decided what to do, given to him by a military chaplain:

You look for the thing that brings you the most joy that crosses with something the world most needs, and that's what you do.

And I think when that happens, you know you are really contributing so you stop thinking you should be doing something more.

I think.

2. I have a new sig line and avatar... but that's not the point
Yes, I now notice your sig line. And I am glad to see that you realize how badly we need to support our nominee. Any of the candidates would have been much, much better than Bush.

By the way, I like your sig...

Is your avatar a fireball or a dragon? Either way, it looks like something fun to "sic" on Bush.

8. Oh! That's why it looked familiar!
I used to play it when it was really popular. My friends were all into it so I bought a few decks. It was a lot of fun. Good strategy game.

13. I am with you all the way
your quote:

"but this Nov will be the most important election in my lifetime"

is, I think, especially true for those of us with family members in the military. The man is dangerous and needs to go.
