Original message
Tom Hayden: It's a movement, and it's not just the Kennedys
and it's not just about Obama. Says people are eager to throw the bums out, ready for "transformational change," and Obama seems most likely to do it.

Says we the people are ahead of all three candidates on the war, so it's up to us to push them into demanding immediate withdrawal.

Super Tuesday: says Hillary has a slight edge organizationally, but anything can happen, and when the spirit of Obama gets out there, amazing things do, and now with Kennedy out working the Latinos and unions, Obama could pull it off.

(Live Pacifica interview I caught the end of. Hayden officially endorsed Obama yesterday I believe.)

1. The Spirit of Obama?
I'm sorry --THAT kind of phrase is seriously one of the reasons I just can't get onboard.

3. Yes he used that phrase.
What he was saying in the interview is that he's seen it in the crowds turning out for Obama. Hayden was saying it's not just an Obama thing, but that he's tapped into something people were looking for already.

12. Sorry
Reminds me of the Star Trek episode where they all worshipped "Landru"

16. I don't think anybody can deny that it's a phenom.
Look at the turnout in SC. Call it a movement, call it whatever, but it's real.

22. It reminds me of the RUN-UP TO THE IRAQ WAR--people jumping on bandwagons, many jumping
about and not knowing what was on board the wagon.

2. Throw the bums out? Obama wants to reach across the aisle
and unite with the bums. None for me, thanks.

7. My impression has been that he's talking about the electorate,
not the government. Just my impression though.

10. "the aisle" is a reference to Congress.
He's talking about compromise with Repugs in Washington. I want no such thing, and will not support him.

6. Ha.
Yes he has a way with words doesn't he? He wasn't exactly gushing though, just trying to explain why he endorsed Big O.

8. Ok, I am tired of exhorting politicians to do what they are paid to do--act.
I do not need to push them to demand immediate withdrawl from Iraq. Its clear what Americans want. Do it. That's the only motto that resonates with me w/regard to Iraq. Do the withdrawl, end the occupation. Anything less is just wording, empty rhetoric, another politician in a room without corners.

I'm not interested in a Clinton spirit, an Obama spirit, a Romeny spirit or a McCain spirit. If I wanted ghosts I'd go to the cemetery.

I want action. Hard, achieved, action.

15. Wary is exactly the tone he took.
He was trying to explain that basically Obama was more likely to end the war than Clinton, but needed all the help he could get on Super Tuesday, and so that's why he endorsed him.
