Not to insult the Kuicinich or the Sharpton folks on here, but Kerry essentially has this nomination in the bag. Is this board REALLY needed for the primaries anymore, can't we just switch it over to Presidential Race 2004 now?

4. There still needs to be a separation between GD and GD Election 2004
At least a little distance.

6. it should stay up for now
i think if it is taken down it should be done based on a decrease of posts here . i would like it to stay up for now. and it's good for just discussions of the primary also. past and present events during the primary. it's good the vice presidential candidate talk too.

8. I'd like this wretched forum to disappear and never return
So we can go back to the way we were before this fucking nightmare of a primary season began. You know, somewhat civil. GD was always a hellhole, but not on the level of GD2004. Somewhere, we lost sight of who the enemy was. I miss the days when the majority of posts were aimed at the President and the GOP and not at "your favorite candidate." This place got bad. And that was before the goddamn primaries started. After Iowa and New Hampshire, and the immediate snarling mob that resulted from those, this place became very scary. And tonight, as some were trying to tip their hats to a well run campaign, others felt it necessary to continue the fight for/against their favorite candidate. Being that it is a mathematic impossibility for any of the candidates not named John Kerry to win the most delegates and secure the nomination, it might be time to stop fucking fighting and refocus our efforts on the real evil, that disaster in the White House. You love Dean? Fine. Continue to love Dean. Edwards? Kucinich? Lieberman? Clark? If you liked your candidate, thats fine. But this shit has to end somewhere, and it might be in the best interest of the country to end it before His Highness gains an unfair advantage over the nominee. Don't like the nominee? That's fine too. Go ahead and vote Green or for Nader. If it makes such a difference to you, then vote even if it is just to satisfy yourself. But for everyone else, everyone who remembers what ABB means and still believes in it, the time for fighting each other has ended. The real fight is against a far greater power.

And if you feel left out because the primary system screws you, then by God, write/call/email someone in Washington and tell them how you feel.

I miss the old DU, but I feel it died with the primaries. RIP. We can rebuild it, though.

13. One more time-
:eyes: Kerry still needs nearly 800 delegates to be the nominee. That's a lot of Primaries, and I'd really like people to stop dismissing the people who haven't yet voted, thanks!

The Primaries are NOT OVER YET. YES the board is needed.

15. Once Kerry seals up the amount of delegates to become the nominee
the debate is over. THis forum should be dissolved and we should all rally behind our man.

Has Kerry already reached the required amout of delegates?

20. Since we won't "officially"
have a candidate until he is actually nominated at the convention....this forum should stay. IMCPO
