Obama's three most famous endorsers:
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 05:42 PM by tgnyc
1)someone who couldn't beat George W. Bush, despite the fact that he was saddled with a very unpopular war

2)someone who couldn't beat Jimmy Carter, despite the fact that he was struggling through one of the most troubled presidencies of the 20th century

3)someone who has never been elected to anything, but is famous primarily as a talk show host

Just noticed.

ON EDIT: I'm not saying these guys haven't accomplished a lot for their party/country. They all have. And i like them all. But it seems notable that none of them has EVER BEEN ELECTED PRESIDENT, despite that fact that two of them have tried.

23. In case you have forgotten the Clintons have won 4 national elections:
Two bids for the presidency and two for the US senate. Besides, Bill only lost one election in his life. He lost in 1980 and was reelected governor two years later.

The Clintons are winners, and they'll survive to fight another day. Kennedy or no Kennedy endorsement.

27. Au contraire. Politics has many friends and right now, and in the recent past,
it's the corprats who control our politics and our political choices.

4. Wow!!
talk about being dismissive. Never mind what these people have accomplished in their lives, or the fact that Kerry received more votes for president than any democrat in history including Bill Clinton (by over ten million votes).

It must suck to have to justify the way you do.

8. Voters
A Democrat should always have more voters than the nominee of years past because the American population is growing, thus more voters. :)

12. Yeah but to do that much better than Bill Clinton in terms of votes is
kind of embarrassing for Clinton.

13. stupid post and let's examine it's stupidity:
In 2004 the war was not yet unpopular by any means. Americans were divided on the war. they certainly were not largely against it.

If you really consider not beating a sitting president for the nomination, you're supremely ignorant. not a surprise.

So Oprah endorsed him. Good for him.

And besides, who better to reach my age group (who grew up on The Dukes Of Hazzard) than him?

Though, I'm still holding out for Roscoe P. Coltrane's endorsement.

1). Oprah
2). George Clooney
3). Toni Morrison/Usher

If we're going purely on fame.

22. You might want to be careful about pushing such a snarky analysis
considering one of the candidates against whom Obama is running is someone who has only been elected to one thing in his life - and who is also the running mate of the guy who couldn't beat George W. Bush . . .

just sayin'

24. So you are saying that the only legitimate endorsements are from former DEM presidents?
That's a pretty limited field there... that is if you are looking for live endorsements.
