Is "Billary" offensive?
I've seen several posts recently asserting that the use of the term "Billary" (in relation to the Clintons) is somehow offensive or a RW-talking-head-inspired-contraction of their names.

Is that so? And, if so, how?

I'm just confused as the media frequently refers to celebrity couples (which the Clintons are) with a contraction of their names. (e.g. "Brangelina", "TomKat")

10. Depends on the usage.
It was coined by sexists who would accuse Bill Clinton of being horse-whipped.

Now it's got an entirely different context. But everybody knows that, and I think they're just pretending to be offended.

42. I don't find that offensive but
can see why others may, especially where that name originated - from the Thugs.

it's quite different than accentuating the 'Hussein' middle name tho. Quite the diff.
but then again, that Hussein guy in Iraq lied a lot less to the American peeps than the Inssein ones in congress and senate here. it seems.

I don't like derogatory nicknames for our candidates being used by anyone, much less by fellow Democrats.

I also don't like posters who aren't for Obama driving home the point that his middle name is Hussein.

"Neener neener" name-calling is for little kids.
