BREAKING*** Janet Reno endorses Hillary Clinton
http://miamiherald.typepad.com/nakedpolitics/2008/01/janet-reno-endo.html

Say whatever you may about Janet Reno (personally I'm a fan), her endorsement in Florida is significant. Now, if those delegates get seated, this may be big.

1. I like Janet Reno, too. I thought she handled herself well with that Elian mess.
I also thought she had the ability to make fun of herself--her SNL appearance was an absolute scream!

57. The media will never pick it up though
just like they never mentioned the Nurses endorsement.
If she wins Florida, I doubt if we'll even hear about it.

2. every time I think of Janet Reno (which ain't often), the image that comes to mind . . .
is the parody of her that Saturday Night Live used to do . . . including the time she herself broke through a wall and joined the fun . . .

deal with the crude comments people made of her.

She has Parkinsins Disease. I wonder how she is doing.

These are standard Right Wing talking points about Reno. The Obama people make very good use of RW talking points.

75. Hey, the only way they won't be seated is if Obama has control over it and they matter.
In other words, Obama is the leading candidate, but by seating the delegates he loses out on the lead! Isn't that ironic! It's the ONLY scenario they WOULDN'T be seated.

42. I suppose this
comes down on the side that Florida delegates should mater and that the accidental benefit should unfairly go to Hillary. The endorsement is not bad but the whole Florida mess is a disgrace to the party process. Trying to get it capitalized to Hillary's benefit does not handle the rules issue very gracefully, coming from an ex-AG. I don't think she sees it anymore than she saw Jeb Bush sandbagging the vote in her primary defeat for the governorship. A good endorsement but marred by its use in a supposedly boycotted discounted primary.

The blatant, calculating use of rule-breaking by two states I consider one of the worst if not the worst example of anti-democratic moves in modern history. The fact that most people can't see or understand it as such does not make it any less reprehensible or unfair.

She was Bill Clinton's AG for a lot of years, and I'm sure she knows Hillary well. That said, FL's delegates don't exactly count for much this time around. And I think Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Obama is a bigger catch.
