Enough with the "Billary" references
That's a term propagated by right wing GOP mouth-breathers and hate radio hosts. It has no place here on DU.
Leave it in Free Republic, on Rush's radio show or at the other right wing blogs, don't pollute DU with it.

It's entirely inapproprite here and definitely not welcome by any Dem, regardless of which candidate they support.

Thank you.

3. It makes my skin crawl
I made the manager of my local grocery store get rid of his "Billary" beer years ago, because it was so offensive.

Its rather surprising that the term has come into common usage here at DU in the last few weeks.

2. Tell it to Frank Rich
I don't use it, but Frank Rich is hardly right wing and that was in the title of his piece in the NYT. Where's the evidence that this is purely a right wing meme?

8. Cali, you know as well as I do
that the term is right wing garbage started by the Pigboy and his pals back during the 90's when Clinton was first elected. It's purpose was to fan the flames of misogyny, along with all the "Hillary is gay" rumors.

Try doing a search to see how common its usage has been here on DU before this primary election.

I could care less what Frank Rich says, but to let right wing vernacular become part of Democratic Party discourse is unacceptable.

12. You also know Obama and his followers
would snap and plead to have the name calling stop if someone was calling them a name similar to Billary. It's negative way attacking strong without substance.

23. It doesn't sound perjorative and insulting to you?
The term "Billary" is meant to diminish both Clintons by fusing them into some sort of double-headed creature, not a real human like you and me, that is not motivated by true human urges or possessing true human feelings.

It is a nasty political slur intended to diminish these otherwise very good human beings. It's like calling Obama "Osama."

If calling Obama "Osama" because his father is Muslim is fair, then calling the Clintons "Billary" is also fair. But if it isn't right to call Obama "Osama", then it isn't right to call the Clintons "Billary." To deny the justice of that, is to advance farther into Limbaugh-land.

And as far as Frank Rich is concerned, he is just the latest MSM puundit to have been struck with Hillary Dereangement Syndrome -- a virus I do not understand -- that makes usually reasonable people say outlandishly untrue things about one (and only one) human being -- Hillary Clinton.

Personally, I attribute all this Hillary-hate to Beelzebubian influence.

19. As an Obama supporter, I love that term!
Yes, I see the negative context, but I think it has a really good context as well - it almost harkens back to the word "audacity" - Obama has the audacity to change things far more than others think is possible.

Its an Obamanation, baby!!! And that's a good thing. :)

26. who the hell in MSM
is saying Obamanation over and over again? Everytime I turn on the tv it's Billary Billary Billary. If they are saying Obamanation, they should stop, it's stupid. I do know it's Billary on every channel, it's a cheap trick, it's being said everywhere, and if the Democrats plan on being united, we should stop failing for cheap tricks. The Roves of the world already fooled us in 2000 and 2004, let's not be the laughing stock of 2008.

31. ok fine...
I have seen Obamanation used as much on DU than I have on MSM. I have also seen Billary used as much on DU as I have on MSM. So if people are going crazy with Obamanation - they really should stop. Billary though is pretty much becoming DU's wallpaper.

But let's face it, if he wasn't out there so much people wouldn't be saying it.

One would assume progressives at DU seeking to win converts to their candidate could do better than to import the sewage of right wing vernacular to make their case.

16. 'Political Correctness' Run Amuck
You've got to be kidding?

'Billary' is a good, old fashioned, political-type, rhetorical device that succinctly expresses a point of view.

If Clinton(s) supporters think that 'Billary' should be repressed, then they clearly do not have thick enough skin to handle the much worse invective that the 'Repugs' would throw at her/him if she/he gets the nomination.

Sheesh. Chill out ... it is a big day for Barack Obama, The more Clinton(s) backers freak-out, the worse you make your own candidate look.
