Like a lot of Dean supporters, I've felt a lot of resentment toward Kerry. I felt that he was anointed by the DNC and the media, and that he had his surrogates use a lot of dirty tricks against Dean in Iowa and NH while pretending to be above it all.
The dumbass debate on Sunday made me feel sympathetic toward Kerry and Edwards for the first time. I wasn't a big Bill Clinton fan at first, either, but during the non-stop wingnut media assault against him, I came to like him a lot. I found myself constantly defending him with my loudmouth winger co-workers. I've thought that the same thing might happen with Kerry for me--when the bush* whores in the media start going after him, that's when I'll find myself on his side.
Also, this Sunday in the NY Daily News I read that Kerry said that Libya was ready long ago to make a deal with the U.S., but bush* wanted to hold off on it for political reasons.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/story/168999p-147637c.htmlKerry also suggested Bush sat on December's deal to have Khadafy renounce weapons programs to get a political boost. "Khadafy's been trying to get back into the mainstream for several years now," Kerry said. "There's evidence that we could have had that deal some time ago."
As proof, he said he'd heard "from friends in the British government that the deal was in a slow lock," although he declined to give specifics to back it up.
Bush campaign spokesman Kevin Madden called Kerry's comments "reckless and irresponsible" and accused him of "taking a step deeper into conspiracy politics." He said Kerry's remarks "are not befitting a serious candidate for President."

This statement by Kerry is downright Dean-like! I can't remember Kerry being the first person in this campaign to throw out a "reckless" accusation against bush*. He usually lays back and let others, like Dean or Clark, make an accusation and take the media beating. Why would he say something like this now with the nomination wrapped up? Could it possibly be that Kerry will not be a cautious centrist during the campaign?
It's apparent that Kerry has been changed as a candidate during this campaign by Dean, and then again by Edwards. Here's hoping those changes are heartfelt and permanent.
