Obama's camp is the only one reaching out to me
I have received several nice phone calls from Obama supporters informing me about our caucus - when and where stuff. And I've had one polite young man knock on the door to tell me about Obama and to explain the caucus process.

I haven't heard at all from the Edwards camp nor the Clinton camp.

Why is this?

2. Because Obama believes in the 50-state strategy, and
that begins with voter outreach at the grassroots level.

Clinton believes in top-down, media-driven campaigning.

Edwards doesn't have the resources--money or volunteers--to do that kind of thing. He's just not viable.

6. fly, that's unfair. I'm surprised at you. The OP is sharing an experience
and you're trying to diminish it by slamming with info we don't even have yet, if there even is any?
I don't care who you support or don't support, but that's a low blow.

Still others may hear from Clinton.

11. you've not heard from Edwards because he probably can't afford phone banks.
If you look at the fundraising numbers, Edwards is way behind.

Dunno about Clinton, maybe she's not organized enough in your area, or has conceded it to Obama. It's all politics in the end, not much logic to any of it.

15. This is what happened to me in Iowa....exactly!!!
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 11:03 AM by TwoSparkles
Where are you?

I was not an Obama supporter in the beginning. I was deciding between Obama and
Edwards the weeks leading up to the Iowa caucus.

I ended up in Obama's camp after reading about his policies and experiencing the
unprecedented organization of Obama's message-rich campaign.

Truly inspiring. And I'm not talking about speeches. He gives great speeches, but
that's just an added bonus. His volunteers know his policies inside and out and they
explain--in depth--Obama's plans on healthcare, education, restoring the Constitution, ending the
Iraq war and the economy.

Many campaigns have come through our state, and I'm always paying attention. I have NEVER seen
a campaign like Obama ran in Iowa.

Parlay this campaign onto a national level--against a Republican--and it's clear that
no Republican can beat Obama.

I got lots of polite phone calls and emails from the Obama camp. When I voiced my concerns
about Habeas Corpus being dead and our Constitution being shredded, I got an Obama
canvasser in my driveway the next day--discussing Obama's stance on Habeas (he is hell bent on
restoring Habeas and running his Presidency with the Constitution intact).

I still was teetering, so I began reading and researching on my own.

Then, I got a call from Obama himself. He listened to me and we discussed the issues for at least
20 minutes. I fact checked everything he said. Sure enough, most of what he said he supported
was in his policy book--that a volunteer gave me.

I also told Obama I was against immunity for the telcos---and he said he was against it and would be
voting against it. I see now that he's in DC for the vote.

Obama stayed positive and had only glowing things to say about Edwards. The Edwards camps was organized
and had really cool supporters. However, I never heard anything from the Hillary camp. I got a phone
call two days before the caucus, asking for support--but it was too late by then. Her events were
very orchestrated---'speech-and-dash' and she rarely answered questions. Obama and Edwards did.

I'm anxious to hear where you are. This is definitely a good sign if the Obama campaign is
running a very vigorous ground game--similar to the one they ran in Iowa. I can't over emphasize
the positive effects of the Obama ground game. It's really amazing.

After experiencing the Obama campaign firsthand, it is mind blowing to invision this kind of
organization and inspiration extrapolated onto a national contest. No Republican would stand
a chance.

19. Hey, you never know...
He might call you!

It's good to hear the same sort of excitement and activity is happening in
the state of Colorado. In my precinct, the observer from the Obama
campaign was from Colorado. He was excellent.

Enjoy this time. It goes fast.

Are you leaning toward Obama?

22. Yes, they are the only camp really working Minnesota as well
In the last week I've seen TV ads, mailers and lit drops for Obama, nothing yet from Edwards and Clinton. Edwards will be here tomorrow but no outreach yet about it. Obama will be here Saturday for what will probably be a rally with Minneapolis Mayor Rybak & Congressperson Keith Ellison. Obama should win Minnesota.
