Why does nobody ask Rudy the obvious question?
"Mr. Mayor, throughout this campaign you have held up your role as Mayor of NY on Sep11, 01 as specially qualifying you to fight terrorism, and recently your ads have focused almost entirely on this argument. Clearly as Mayor of NY, you were not in a position to prevent the attacks of 9-11. A Mayor would not usually have a role in forming and conducting foreign policy or overseas intelligence activities. We all appreciate that you were visible at "ground Zero" to provide moral support to the workers there. Please identify something specific that you did regarding 9-11, other than overseeing the removal of the debris, that prepares you to fight terrorism better than other candidates."

Sumbitch is getting a free ride. It continues to boggle the mind how these media people can just let candidates make nonsensical claims and never challenge them. 98% of the media could be replaced with a tape recorder without any reduction in their contribution to our democracy.

Alas, it appears the voters of Florida have seen through this BS much better than the press ever did. Any bets whether Guiliani will drop out of the race after Florida?

4. But he did get a free ride for years. If the proper questions had
been asked, he never would have become "America's Mayor."

As usual, the corporate press failed us miserably.

2. Ask him a critical question? He barely gets coverage; he's a marginal candidate.

Why waste valuable time pursuing answers from him?

When he loses Florida, and my guess is that once again, he'll lose Big, I'll be amazed if he doesn't give it up. His campaign has been 'managing expectations' on that by downgrading the importance of Florida to the campaign, when until just recently, it was the linchpin of it.

7. As long as he stays in the campaign
(which hopefully will not be more than 48 hours now) he should be called to account for this.

Yes, of course if should have been done long ago. But I still wouldn't mind seeing somebody put this question to him now. It would serve the country very well to blast his messianic bubble beyond all recognition, just to make sure his political career is finished.

8. Oh, he's finished, alright. Anyone remember John V. Lindsay?
Another ego-driven NYC Mayor who thought he could become President, switched to the Democratic Party and began a run for the nomination in 1971....dropped out after single digit showings in the Florida....His 1980 campaign for the Senate was unsuccessful, as he lost the Democratic primary..."

3. A free ride down the drain, the way I see it.
We'll see by Wednesday morning.

5. Also - "When did you get your eyes done?" and
"Are those new teeth?"

He looks very strange lately in addition to acting strange.

His free 9/11 ride is spiraling downhill fast - he's a goner, even if he pulls out Florida due to early voting before people got a better look at him.
