Barack Obama is the scripted "teleprompter" candidate"
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 08:08 AM by agdlp
http://www.pr-inside.com/andy-martin-says-barack-obama-is-the-teleprompter-candidate-r372467.htm

The bottom line: Obama is scripted, not spontaneous; he is an insecure speaker, not a confident one. His words are not his own. And these weaknesses are evident when he is forced to participate in the debate format. He cannot hold his own with truly confident candidates who deliver their own words, not someone else's. Like so much about Obama that we don't know, he is really a paper mache caricature, a Potemkin candidate, a creation of the people behind the screen who manipulate and control his public persona.

26. Could Not Agree More! However Hillary While Not Quite Pure Teleprompter IS TOTALLY SCRIPTED AS WELL
THE ONLY GENUINE CANDIDATE IS JOHN EDWARDS! The phony Southern accents when an appropriate audience is before either of them (Hill And Obey), is laughable... The BS meter is ALWAYS NEAR its BReaKING point... as for substance the hIllBill Pbalma combo ... IS COMPLETELY DEVOID OF SUBSTANCE ... UNLESS PLAGIARIZED FROM John Edwards! :)

10. About the author of this article: Right Wing KOOK!
llinois Republican Andy Martin Sues David Brock, Media Matters for America to Block Left-Wing Group

WASHINGTON, May 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Chicago-based Internet
journalist, broadcaster and media critic Andy Martin will hold a
Washington, DC news conference Friday, May 11th at 11:00 A.M. to announce
that he has sued the left-wing group Media Matters for America, David Brock
and Brock's associates at MMFA.
Since the 1960s Martin has been Illinois' leading public interest
advocate (see AndyMartin.com). Martin, an independent Republican, is
currently an announced candidate for U. S. Senator (AndyforUSSenator.com).
"David Brock has invented a new form of political organization: a tax
exempt group that is subsidized by taxpayers while Brock gets to spew his
hate/smears," Martin charges. "The sympathetic left-wing national media
love it.
"Brock attacked Don Imus. He has attacked Rush Limbaugh and Bill
O'Reilly. And he as also smeared me. I am in good company with national
media personalities.
"I have sued Brock and MMFA. He can defend his defamatory accusations
in DuPage County, Illinois Circuit Court.
"I can't prove it yet, but I believe there are links between Brock's
tax exempt hate/smear group and Barack Obama's campaign," Martin will
state.
Brock and MMFA smeared Martin for Martin's column in NewsMax.com
accusing Obama of "hiding his white grandmother."
Martin's lawsuit is on file in the Circuit Court of DuPage County,
Illinois, Docket Number 2007L000435. Brock was served with the lawsuit on
Thursday.

16. Dont dismiss the argument just because the author is Republican.
Why not discuss the article and the substance on the facts, not dismisses it just because the author is Republican.

14. Hmmm...how much weight to give this commentary? Here is a paragraph
from Mr. Martin's campaign website:

"Andy Martin is the Republican Party’s only Iraq expert with the credibility and independence to take on incumbent Dick Durbin and attack Democratic Party duplicity on the Iraq fiasco. Iraq is going to dominate the 2008 campaign; Andy’s experience and analysis will dominate that debate—and dominate Dick Durbin."

Make your own decision.

15. This guy is so bad even the GOP won't claim him and he can't get a law license in Illinois
The GOP has removed him from the ballot a few times. But if this is what DUers want to use to attack Obama go right ahead:

Andy Martin
Andy Martin, 62, has unsuccessfully run for a variety of political offices in the past four decades, most recently in 2006 gubernatorial primary. He attempted a Senate run in 2004 but was removed from the ballot. He has also previously ran for office in Florida and Connecticut and in the 2000 presidential race.

He is a vocal critic of the Illinois Republican Party and its leadership, consistently throwing verbal jabs at both McKenna and Sauerberg. In fact, he was denied access to an Oak Brook GOP meeting for candidates in November.

He supports a strong transportation system, specifically a high-speed rail system in Illinois.

"We need high-speed rail because it will tie this area together," he said. "That is why it is so distressing to see this nonsense going on in Springfield."

He breaks party lines on some issues, by supporting an investigation into the mistreatment of terror suspects, for example, and he is opposed to the Iraq war.

Martin says he is the most viable candidate because he is the one who will be best at working with members of both parties.

He holds a degree in law from the University of Illinois, but the state Supreme Court denied him a license in 1973.

I am a DK supporter and I have seen Obama speak at a rally in St. Louis, November 2006. There was no telepromter and he spoke eloquently. I really don't accept this criticism as being valid based upon what I actually saw.

27. Yeah, he's gotten all those newspaper endorsements by boycotting editorial boards
In fact, Obama will talk for hours about policy and philosophy with newspapers, and his performance in those environments has earned him one endorsement after another. If any of you bashers are interested, there are clips galore of him answering difficult questions and handling them extremely well.

Here's 49 minutes without notes:

If you want a spin-friendly candidate, like the beat reporters, Obama is not your man. If you equaete his approach with empty-suit behavior, you're the one who isn't thinking.

In both cases he was more eloquent and inspiring than any candidate I've seen in my lifetime. Sorry to say, but Clinton just puts me to sleep, and Edwards, while I like him, needs to get some new stories and stop talking about the same people in every single speech.

obama can get out there and give one hell of a speech but get him to answers questions about his positions and on the issues he comes across at times worse then bush. Folks, we have serious problems and we need serious people to correct the state of this union. We sure as hell do not need a revival preacher, we need someone on day one begin turning this ship and chart a new direction.

Obama is an empty suit and once you get him down off his pedestal he leaves a lot to be desired. If you have heard obama speak and you get goose bumps and no knowing about his stand on the issues and you still say you will vote for him, then may I suggest you stay home(primaries only) cause this logic is what has got us into this damn mess. People voting cause they like him, sound familiar. Bush 2000 when the mediawhores told us all that bush did not need to be the smartest man in the room. Well it seems as though these same mediawhores are telling the gullible once again obama need not be the smartest in the room or the most experienced, because he is soooooooooooooo likable and gives a damn good speech.....

L-rd, help this nation by giving us more folks with iq's over 65.

But please don't insult those who do by saying they're gullible or stupid. Do you really think you're going to change any minds by attacking people like that?

And OH MY GOD did you really just compare Obama to Bush? You really need a reality check.

37. Which candidates don't use speeches written by staff?
Which candidates don't use speeches written by staff? Which ones haven't used a teleprompter?

Aside from those two particular allegations thrown out by the author, the rest seems to be nothing more than opinion (at best).

He's seemed as securely confident in the debates as the rest of the candidates to me. Granted, it's simply another opinion, but it does aptly illustrate that the only opinions we can rely on are our own...
