That horrible thought dawned on me the other day.

Lieberman seems to be determined to be an supernova asshole of the Nth magnitude.

3. I know he's from Florida, but I dont know much about him...
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 05:06 AM by wlucinda
What does he bring to the equation to balance Mc Cain?

I've heard rumbling that Rice might end up on the ticket if Hillary gets the nom...but it may just be smoke. No reputable source...

5. He's wildly popular among a lot of republicans and democrats.. don't ask
me why.. But he has a 70% approval rating... He's really not bad.. wish he was a D, but D doesn't get you too far in Florida.... He would be an asset to ofset the "old" McCain.

7. Thanks.
Will keep an eye on him. The polling for the Florida primary looks like a nailbiter for the Reps. I wasn't paying attention. I didn't realize it was so close.

15. Rice:
I believe that she has been discussed in the context of possibly uniting two groups within the Bush sub-party. The older Bushites want Romney and view Rice as pleasant but ineffective; the younger people view Romney as incapable -- strange considering he is what W might have been, had he been sober in his youth -- but think Rice in the OVP could run foreign policy.

18. Nominating a woman (Rice or Dole) would be a shrewd move
If Hillary is the nominee, she would not be the only woman on the ballot any more. Hell, Condi would be black and female!

I think Condi Rice is a nightmare, btw. And I don't think she would connect with the voters.

However, Elizabeth Dole would be a very formidable opponent as VP.

21. That makes sense....With all the apparent ideological divisions right now, anyone
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 04:04 PM by wlucinda
that can bridge the divides is going to get consideration.

Plus, if Hillary is the nom, Rice on the ticket might keep some disgruntled Rep women, and some Indy voters, from going Dem this time around.

4. i think it will be Lieberman also, it will be his way of getting back at the
ones who supported Bush over him in 2000. he probably wont get some of the Republicans anyways so he might hope to make it up by getting some Dems with Lieberman on the ticket.

that's also why Lieberman is probably supporting him right now.

17. never going to happen
For all his faults, and he has many, Lieberman is pro-choice and the chances that the repubs will have a pro-choice candidate on the ticket are exactly, precisely, unequivocally zero.

20. If that happens -- and it could -- it will be a distinct, resonant pleasure to
nominate in Denver a ticket that will beat the living crap out of the GOP.
