1928.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

1960.

"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."

1963

"Let freedom ring. And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring—when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children—black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics—will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

1968

"There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why? I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?"

1972

"I don't measure America by its achievement but by its potential."

1992

"There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America."

2008

"Out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope; and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people in three simple words:

Yes. We. Can."

2. I don't understand--
--where does 1928 come in? The stock market crash was 1929 and FDR wasn't elected until 1932. From what I recall no one was afraid of much in 1928.

(Other than that, I think that is one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile. :) )
