Hillary: LOVE drove Bill over the line
I can't help but laugh at spin like this.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080127212859.9jtv8b64&show_article=1

Hillary Clinton admitted Sunday her husband Bill's hard-charging campaign tactics had gone overboard, but chalked the ex-president's fiery broadsides up to love and a chronic lack of sleep.

A day after rival Barack Obama trounced her in the South Carolina primary, the former first lady also mounted a vigorous defense of the two Clinton White House terms, which Obama has said did not spark transformational change.

Clinton was asked on CBS television's "Face the Nation" whether her husband was "out of control" after he took the Illinois senator, and the media to task, during a foul-tempered week-long campaign.

"You know, my husband has such a great commitment to me and to my campaign," the New York senator said.

"He loves me just like, you know, husbands and wives get out there and work on each others' behalf."

She blamed the tensions of the tight battle for the party's presidential nomination

"Maybe he got a little carried away. You know, that comes with a hard-fought election," she said.

"It also comes with sleep deprivation which, you know, I think is marking all of us, our families, our supporters," said Clinton, who herself is running low on sleep, as she jets back-and-forth across the country.

3. I feel sorry for her. She is the one running for President but she STILL has to defend Bill.
I must say that when it comes to Bill she has the patience of a saint.

Yep.
I hope he gets some sleep and perspective soon.

And I can believe he over reacted out of love, but whether love of Hillary or love of the fight, I am not sure.

5. Bill Clinton SHOULD follow the example of Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Edwards...
...they've been on the stump too, but I haven't seen either of them get quite so red-faced and finger-pointy on camera yet.

22. I don;t want to hear about other people's sex lives
One reason I don't want it dominating the news if the Clintons get elected. And you know it will.

We already had a decade of it in the 90's. Another terms would be a sequel to this soap opera.

(BTW, as someone not too far from his 60's, it doesn't mean the end of sex....I hope)

9. I think she is about to start crying again.
Someone will ask her "how do you do it?" and the floodgates will open.

"It's sooo hard, and we are all short of sleep, and Bill has been just wonderful but maybe a bit overzealous, but he only does it because he LOVES ME so much!"

:puke:

13. Hey, it would be better than how the last 2 weeks were handled
I much preferred the New Hampshire approach to this crap. If only she had kept doing it that way. But noooo, she had to keep Mark Penn in the game.

17. That is a strategy that only works in very small doses.
do it too much and people start to wonder about the stagecraft.

(Wow, did she just dab her eyes with that compact? Just before she started crying? I wonder what was on that?)

20. I just want her to be the face of her campaign
I think that would do her the most good. What was good about New Hampshire is that she was making a case why she was running and what she had to offer and that was when she was most compelling. The tears were incidental in my mind, it was that she was the center was more politically helpful to her.

That said, I can agree with your sentiment that when playing politics she is more transparent (while trying not to be) than most candidates I've seen. I swear she can take her most heartfelt conviction and make it seem like it was focused grouped and poll tested and scripted over 10 years. That worries me.

11. I guess Michell Obama must be very rested then...
Yes Hillary--we get it. Your husband (who cheated on you like a dog) loves
you so much that he can't resist lying about your opponent, twisting
his words, manipulating the truth and attacking with the viciousness
of a pit bull.

Yeah. That sure sounds like behavior that comes from a special, soft
spot in someone's heart. :eyes:

Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Edwards both love their spouses too. They're
probably pretty tired from the grueling campaign schedule.

We don't see them devoting all of their waking hours to politically
eviscerating Hillary---all in the name of hearts and flowers.

12. S.O.P. Standard operating procedure for the Clinton camp
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 05:24 PM by Botany
Well ________ ______________ went over the line and we do not
approve of __________ __________ actions but it was not ment in
a bad way because he/she was _________ (misunderstood, taken
out of context, tired, not really speaking for the campaign, loved
Hillary too much, caught up in the heat of the campaign, and on
and on)

When something happens time after time than it is not an accident.

examples

Robo Calls against Edwards
Johnson of BET
Former Sen. Bob Kerry of Nebraska
Bill Clinton

When "things" keep happening it is no accident.

Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 05:26 PM by sfam
Thank God poor Hillary has a nice strong hubby to take over when things get tight, ey? How horrible would it be if she had to try to run for president all on her own. At least we all know that even if a woman gets the Democratic nomination, some things won't change. We'll still know that it takes a strong "man" to help out when things get too tough.

Great message there, Hillary. You've come a long way - too bad you aren't willing to go the rest of the way.

He does seem to have impulse control issues.

25. So if she were our nominee.... how would he handle himself in the general election ?

If Obama is to much for Billary to deal with what might we expect against the entire Repug smear machine?

This is one more reason to vote against Billary.
