"We are not Republicans."

If they ARE serious--and who could tell, given the wretched quality of this pitiful site, I think they protestest too much?

Are you out there Marcus?

Paging "Rage against their (our?)Machine?!!!!

52. I wondered the same
What an ugly site. I could make a better website than that and I haven't been in practice for years.

Plus they are a bunch of cowards because you notice they give no contact info (ie an email address or web form). I guess I can't really blame them for not wanting to reap what they sow.

Fuckin' idiots.

Anyone who disses him loses all credibility in my mind. Especially by calling it 'fortune cookie' philosophy. In fact I find that borderline rascist.

If anything it only makes me suspicious of those that oppose Dean. It's a bit juvenile and amateurish and I doubt anyone will take it too serioiusly.

Maybe the joke's on ME? Perhaps that's what the webmaster intended it to be... spoofing the Dean-Opposers.

25. Read the about Page...
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 02:41 PM by SahaleArm
Some of the content here may initially appear to be based on some irrational disgust with Howard Dean. To be sure, we are frustrated at the notion that the young people the media portrays in Dean's camp are representative of the next political generation in America. And, to be sure, some of the content is designed primarily for amusement. Within most of what we have put up here, though, is legitimate political criticism. We trust our readers to differentiate between what is intended as our substantive criticism of Governor Dean, what is intended to generate a laugh, and what is intended to accomplish both. Our goals for you: have some fun poking around the site, learn a few things you may not have about Dean and his "movement," and, ultimately, vote for anyone… but Dean.

55. Ahh yes, but then look up Artemis Strategies on Google
and you get this:

Artemis Strategies, LLC Opens for Business.
PR Newswire, Feb 13, 2003

WASHINGTON -- WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Artemis Strategies, LLC, a newly created government relations firm whose client resources also include public affairs and strategic communications services, has opened for business with offices in Washington, D.C., Houston and San Francisco. Seven founding partners, with a wealth of federal, state and international experience, established the firm:

Timothy F. Powers, Co-chairman (Washington office) -- Mr. Powers, formerly deputy director of the Republican National Committee's (RNC) Congressional Affairs and Strategic Planning operation, left a solo government and public affairs practice, PowerStrategies, for Artemis Strategies. He previously spent six years as a principal at the PodestaMattoon government relations firm. He served on the Bush/Cheney Transition Team and founded the K Street Crowd, an informal network of Republican government affairs professionals that provides a critical link between the GOP leadership, party committees and the downtown community.

Ari Storch, Co-chairman (Washington) -- Mr. Storch comes to Artemis Strategies from Rhoads/Weber Shandwick Government Relations. He has served as a senior consultant to Cassidy and Associates and as vice president of National Strategies, Inc., and was political and Congressional affairs director for the Republican Jewish Coalition. He also was the in-house lobbyist at the Embassy of Israel for both the Peres and Netanyahu governments. In 2001 President George W. Bush appointed him to serve as a member of the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad.

81. Pathetic how they stereotype young Dems
The ABD core at anybodybutdean.com is a group of young, politically oriented graduate students and young professionals. We closely follow politics, but none of us work for a campaign. We are over-educated. We eat brie and drink Perrier. We watch Jim Lehrer’s Newshour and the West Wing. We wake up early on Sundays to watch Meet the Press. We think about how nice Volvos are. We read the Atlantic Monthly, Maureen Dowd, and listen to NPR. Individually, we are all over the map on the major issues: foreign policy, taxation, health care, entitlement spending. We look like the media characterization of the people at Dean rallies, and if you listen to the attendants, you’d think everyone there was just like us. We do not believe that these boisterous youth should be assumed to be speaking for all young voters, or all “progressives.” We vote.

They probably want Joe Lieberman and listen to Rush and Hannity more often than they watch the West Wing. Dean is so much like the Josiah Barlett character, don't ya think?

26. Two things stick out:
on this site (Check the 'About Us' link...), the first appears to be an unintentional joke:

Our content is driven by people under 30, not by a professional political staff. Our website is run by a tech-savvy and creative single mom

Tech savy?

Okaaayyyyy....

And the second (which actually comes first, chronologically), tells you everything you need to know about the values of the people who put this sad little site together:

None of us voted for Bush and, unless Dean wins the nomination, none plan on voting for Bush in 2004

So, these losers want us to believe they are life long Dems who will vote for Bush if Dean is nominated?

I'm sorry, but anyone who would vote for Bush over ANY Dem is braindead. No...not brain dead, brain-"less".

Wait...Is there any category of brain inactivity that sits lower then brainless? How about brain draining? Ack - I give up, there is simply no way to convey the level of stupidity that this site has reached. At least not in English.

33. Two possibilities
Either someone is being very clever (kudos, if you are) by registering the name under Artemis Strategies and trying to throw us off the scent (The problem is the address is fake).

Or, republicans are behind it. The partners of Artemis Strategis are Bush "rangers."

39. Nobody yet
Someone could have registered the name under Artemis Strategies as a deception. Someone could call Artemis Strategies and ask if they know about the site: 202.408.8001

42. More to consider
Again, I'm being very cautious, this could be a big frame up, but...

The address and phone number in the domain registration are fake. The inclusion of Artemis Strategies should be suspect too, but, for those who want to keep digging, notice that the technical contact in the domain record, the one thing not likely to be faked is in MA. Now this:

Artemis Strategies current clients include GE Capital Mortgage, e-Bay, Heinz Food and the Government of Pakistan.

58. I guess Hawkeye's detective work proves the fear from the Bush camp
Of a Howard Dean candidacy.

Why else attempt something as ridiculous as this?

No need to listen to the garbage about Republicans wanting Howard Dean to win...it at least appears that this Bush pioneer and Republican contributor wants anyone else but Dean.

62. What is most telling is how much this reflects some the crud here today..
All the "I HATE DEAN" posts that are coming from so-called Kucinich and Kerry supporters, for example.

It seems that we are swamped with this uselss garbage here lately.

And I doubt if it is all coming from supporters of other Dem candidates.

64. Now here's a vicious little twist.
We've got a thoroughly RNC strategy firm posting a purportedly Dems against Dean website and linking it, for good measure, to Dr. Norman Livergood's anti-Dean page, which ends with an appeal to vote for and donate to Kerry. I have a lot of respect for Livergood, though I obviously disagree with him vehemently on his view of Dean, and I'm quite sure he has nothing to do with the Repuke scam site as he thoroughly despises Bush and everything this cabal stands for.

A vicious underground oppo site to make use of our primary battle to pit followers of one Dem against those of another and vice versa.
