8. Agreed - this is the central point progressives need to make

that energy independence = greater security in every way

and Bush's pro-oil, pro-coal, pro-drill-ANWAR-for-a-barrel-of-crappy-tar policies just necessitate further invasion and imperialism.

Did anyone read Hightower's book? I liked how he used the example of JFK's shoot for the moon 10 year plan as a model for rallying American patriotism around something real and genuinely good for our country - energy independence.
