Is it too late for Sen. Edwards to keep his seat?
By the way, first and foremost, my congrats to Edwards. He has impressed the hell out of me and I am glad he is on our side, I wish he could have stayed in it a bit longer.

Second, I know that there is a strong thought here and elsewhere for a VP slot for Edwards, and understandibly so. I can't say that would not be a helluva string ticket, but those things are yet to be determined and it doesn't seem to me that the top two rivals in the primaries hook up very often.

Sooooo, here is my question (finally, huh?) Is it too late for Edwards to reapply for his senate seat? We will need every voice we can get in DC and his is up for grabs. I would just hate for him to fade into the background ala Gore.

1. Yes, and now
Erskine Bowles will run for it. And lose. I feel sick...

2. Yes, with typical class, he stepped aside long ago, and Erskine Bowles
is running.

3. Realistically, it is
The filing deadline isn't until May, but Erskine Bowles has been running for months. He has been raising money and is the nominee. Edwards would struggle to win the race against Burr and I honestly don't think he would win. Bowles is a better candidate at this stage.
