Not quite like Martin, huh. Or JFK. Or Bobby. Or even Hillary.

Not even as good as GW as far as that goes.

The guy can't order a hamburger at McDonalds without a teleprompter.

you're behaving like an embittered loser, and the speech will be fantastic. I mean, don't we ALL win if a Dem gets big numbers? WTF is this pathetic, childish shit I'm seeing on DU? The aim is to get the Repulsive ones out of the White House, isn't it? Obama wasn't even my second choice, and Hillary my last, but I'm happy as hell our candidates can raise enough excitement in the normally apathetic populace to get people to the primaries in larger than normal numbers. What the hell is wrong with some people??? Stop being dumb fucks. There is so much more at stake here than your petty egos. This is our and our children's future, and some people are behaving as if this were the goddamned superbowl.

I can't stand it when a politician who knows he's giving a major speech to a nationwide audience that he's never given before and that he certainly didn't have time to memorize, yet wants to make sure he gets it right, prepares carefully and reads it from a teleprompter.

I so much prefer to have my politicians stand up on stage unprepared or give their same old red meat stump speech that they've memorized and given over and over and over until they can give it in their sleep.

:sarcasm:

I have no problem Obama winning South Carolina. I've been expecting it from before New Hampshire and Nevada. In fact, I'm actually happy he won there. African Americans deserve to get to vote for Obama and see him win some states.

What disgusts me isn't anything about tonight. It's about the ugly race-baiting that Obama did leading up to South Carolina. There are ramifications beyond Obama's self interest, but those are not something to get into tonight.

This is light criticism. Obama doesn't speak freely well, even giving speeches. Worth noting on the occasion of his fourth, totally scripted, victory/concession speech.

29. Oh gosh, here's Hillary. Just talking like a person.
Not like some scripted show-doll.

It is strangely refreshing, especially after another one of Obama's clenched-fist teleprompter readings.
He's like someone who doesn't know how to swim, in deep water, holding onto a life preserver for dear life.

Now, Hillary isn't giving a great speech, she's just communicating. It's like, authentic or something.

I didn't think so.

And I wasn't making a point about speaking voices, they can be taught.

I'm talking about scripting. Constant scripting.

or does invectives ok make?

Sorry, but pointing out actual, real world details, even if they don't glorify Obama, isn't flame-bait.

I've noticed this from Iowa, through New Hampshire and Nevada, and now in South Carolina.

The guy can't break his reading concentration for so much as a second. Which is not like any supposedly great orator I've ever seen.

Hillary can get speechwriters to write those very kind of lofty but relatively meaningless speeches, and then read them just as easily.

People would get sick of that pretty soon.
