Clinton strategiests: "fallout has had the effect of branding Obama as "the black candidate"" (AP)
...

Clinton campaign strategists denied any intentional effort to stir the racial debate. But they said they believe the fallout has had the effect of branding Obama as "the black candidate," a tag that could hurt him outside the South.

7. He's the college kids' candidate. Feel better?
Actually, the college kids LOVE thinking they're the only ones liberal and enlightened enough to vote for the "black" candidate. You're all quite smug about it.

16. Who's the old farts candidate?
You know..that dying breed that are shitting in their pants at the thought of a "black" President. I guess it all comes down to how many of them Hillary and Bill think there are?

4. So basically, it's this:
"We didn't want to start a race war or anything, but since it's out there, no one will vote for a black guy."

First Bill goes off on a tangent about his own legacy in MO, and now veiled racism from Clinton staffers. Nice.

13. Yes, Hillary has huge negatives. The only way she can win against Obama is to tarr him as the black
candidate and spread the most negative crap her flying monkeys can manage.

Clinton supporters must realize this and it just shows how fucked up things are that they are willing to lie about it.

way? I can't think of anything Democrats find more abhorrent then to be treated like they are or vote based on racism.

What is their point?

18. So I guess Pat Buchanan was right about the Clintons' long-term strategy.
I think if Hillary's people are putting out this message, they are giving Obama another opening to win over voters who are undedecided and don't like "racial" politics.

21. I fucking hate the clinton campaign. I went from neutrality to outright seething hatred.
In the beginning I had policy differences with Hillary Clinton, nothing more. But now I absolutely hate the Clinton campaign's tactics so much I could just vomit. It is infuriating to me that the Clinton campaign is willing to use racism and be racists to win.

I feel like I'm watching a republican battle, and it makes me sick. :(

26. It's still not personal Hillary Clinton hatred. But this campaign she sanctions is just sick.
And if they are not careful, the divisive racist tactics they are using are going to (deservedly) cost us the general election no matter who we nominate, because people who were touched with a fresh spark of involvement this election cycle, will become bitter and cynical once again and stay home.

27. Naughty Naughty Clinton strategists, you said the word black.
Only ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, the entire staffs of the Washington Post and the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and AP articles broadcasted around the world are allowed to analyze Obama's black status throughout the south, and even to death, but never ever you.

But Obama's victory was too big for that. He carried too much of the white vote.

81% of blacks voted for someone of their race. 76% of whites did the same. Sad facts.

35. Unbelievable. They just don't quit.
The race card must be their main hope of keeping Obama from blowing this wide open.

Why otherwise, do they come back to it again and again?

And if she gets the nomination, how in the hell does she win without massive support of the black vote?
It is the core of this party.
