"You get what you deserve"
75% of the voters are voting for BULLSHIT reasons- either your voting for the woman or the african American.
They aren't voting on CHANGE. It's a gender/race contest.
Fuck it John... who wants to keep fighting for people THAT DO NOT GET IT???

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

From Bill Maher: http://www.billmaher.com/?page_id=220

YOUNG GIRL: I’m for John Edwards.

MAHER: You’re for John Edwards?

YOUNG GIRL: Well, I feel like he’s going to bring back the troops.

MAHER: And he’s angry about things. And considering how much we’re poisoned, ripped off and lied to, don’t you think that’s the appropriate emotion?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MAHER: And I’m – I’m very curious – you covered this campaign – you must have seen John Edwards speak. It seems like he has the message that, in these economic times, would do well. I’m curious as to why you think he hasn’t done better. Because he’s the one who is saying, “Look, you can’t trust corporate America. They’ve strangled you, the middle class, the lower class, for the last 30 years.” You look at the charts of where the money has gone – it’s – we’re in another gilded age. And it’s usually the Democrats who come along at a certain point in our history when our capitalism has led us to a gilded age, when things are way out of whack, and they wrest it back. It happened in the 1890s, in the 1920s, the 1950s…Why isn’t John Edwards’ message resonating?

snip:

MAHER: But, why do you think the common man doesn’t vote – doesn’t seem to vote for his own self-interests?

TAIBBI: I don’t know. I mean, I’ve seen Edwards a lot on the campaign trail, and he does seem to resonate very well. I mean, I think people – he gets people angry, and it’s a time when people should be angry. But, I think—

SNOW (idiot Republican hack) : Well, can I introduce some contrarian evidence, just a little here?

MAHER: Yes, please.

SNOW(idiot Republican hack) : Actually, if you take a look at what’s been going on, the reason he’s not selling is his message is false. Eighty percent of the American public last week, in a Pugh poll, said that they were satisfied or very satisfied with their lives. We’ve had 52 consecutive months of employment growth in this country. It’s never happened before. We’re now in the sixth year of continuous economic growth. More people have jobs—

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SNIP:

Let’s go to our “Blogga, Please!” section. Can I have the cards from “the Internets”? Okay, “Boobah” asks, “I am a John Edwards supporter and I am frustrated that the media seem to blatantly ignore him” – just like you were saying. “Do you believe if the media gave him the attention of Clinton/Obama, he would have been doing better?”

TAIBBI: Yeah, absolutely, I think he would be doing better. And, again, the reason for – what’s so funny about that is that, you know, we reporters – we all make a lot of money and we all stay in these fancy hotels and we eat catered meals three times a day, and then somebody like John Edwards gets up and he starts talking about how ordinary people don’t have health insurance and are getting laid off, and we say he’s too angry. I mean, what’s more ridiculous than that, you know? Just like us getting up here. You know, we’re flown up here first class, and you’re telling us that – telling Middle America that they’re not struggling? You know, it’s absurd.

3. The corporations win again.
They turned it into an issue about race and sex. So we don't talk about corporate GREED!

16. You got that right
They control the media, and the media controls what the people hear and see. They picked the "corporate" candidates as the front runners long ago, and have been pushing the same two over and over every single day. First it was Hillary, hands down the nominee, then Obama when Hillary started to slide, but does it make a difference? Both of them are the candidate of corporate america, and both will do whatever those with the money want them to do, "IF" they get elected!

The big money wins, the american people lose again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. I'm an Edwards supporter
and I'm hoping he'll stay in until the convention. At least if he doesn't win, maybe he'll have enough influence to get a position with whatever new administration (assuming the Dem wins the general) takes over. I hope the eventual winner does well, pulls us back to the left where we belong -- because I sure as hell don't want to be saying "I told you so" four years from now.

10. Cali
I think you would help your candidate more if you used more respectful language.

Your candidate may very well be the Dem nominee and he will need all the Dem votes he can get in the general election.

17. One poll
Said that only 6% were voting for the one they thought could win the election in November, now what does that tell you?

11. I Love John and AM begining to HATE the Democrtic Party!

I think all the in-fighting between candidates signals the ultimate downfall of the Party. William Grieder wrote over 10 years ago that the party might need to be destroyed before it could be re-created into something more viable. I think , if Edwards is shut out it will signal an breach that may well be irreparable.
I'm not sure I can or want to do this anymore but I won't vote for a corporate candidate and that's a promise.
I may have to "throw my vote away" by voting for someone I trust and respect. And if my one vote keeps th anointed Dem from winning well, they left me first.

12. Nope. Edwards or Un-Committed ALL of the Way!!!
I understand your frustrations. People either don't know or don't care about the Issues, but the only thing we should do is to stay with John Edwards and tell others about him, while he keeps working for delegates and at minimum, he's going to have an important role to play in who actually gets nominated and that means what issues are most important and it also implies a role for Edwards either as VP or in the new Democratic administration.

14. why doesn't someone take these idiots on when they say such stupid crap
Snow says everything is great - someone points out everyone is losing their house - he says we are trying to fix that

the only reason people have money is they have used these homes as ATM's
There is no economy and hasn't been
Now it is coming home to roost
People like tony snow continue to tell this @#$!@#$ lie and everyone goes along with the diversion and never talks to the issue
The economy numbers doesn't measure the cost of food, gas, or oil
The unemployment numbers does not measure those out of work instead it only measures those collecting

The wages of most people have gone down or they lost their jobs and are making the wages they made 20 years ago while the cost of housing, food, gas, everything except what they measure for the statistics goes up

I find myself screaming at the TV -
I must walk away from all politics - no one is listening to the truth

15. It's a pretty shitty thing to do to marginalize Hillary and Obama that way--
believe it or not, I'm a woman who's NOT supporting Hillary, and I'm a white NOT supporting Edwards--I'm not black or male, and I'm supporting Obama. Race and gender have nothing to do with my support.

That he can win in November? Do you think he can stand up to the republican machine, and the stuff they will be bringing out about him? Can he really take on McCain?

19. I have absolutely no doubt he can win. None. I live in a red state, and
even among white Republican acquaintances, there is an interest in him here. He took the white rural vote in NV--I am not concerned at all about his electability.

20. Edwards votes were disappointing, not enough for him to get out tho
He has some more talking to do before the next primary date. with the economy as bad as it is and will be, we need someone that has a plan to change how our govt. is controlling our economy by allowing the corps more freedom to screw the people. Edwards had about 30 million in campaign chest compared to Hillary and Obama's approximately 100 million to play with. Just guess where they got that kind of money? Of course the big boys don't like Edwards, he threatens to change the system. Get some regulations back in our system that protects people not AT&T (telecommunications), pharma, health care, media, the war machine, etc..

There is no doubt that Bill did the economy good during his presidency. With the dollars that are backing his wife now is reason for concern. Someone tell me why this theory is wrong.
