I sound a lot like some old fart, but I seriously do NOT remember DU being this fucked up in the early days. I remember the Nader/Green wars, and I was here for the last round of primaries when the Dean fans were going at it 24/7 with the Clark followers. Those were all painful enough for us all, but this has really gone beyond the pale.

I will say this outright, and I'll probably be bashed from here to hell for it, but I really do think we have some people on here that exist only to stir up shit and hurt others posters. I think those same folks will vanish just as soon as there is a nominee.

The regular DUers might disagree on candidate choice (which is what a PRIMARY is all about!) but I think the anger and ugliness will disperse rapidly once the decision is made. Yeah, there will be a few that are still assholes--but we've known who they were ALL along.

The roaches will scurry off soon, so don't let it get to you--ok?

I remember Dean fans being pretty zealous vs. Kerry. I guess since I'm not that invested, I don't see the big deal. When the GE rolls around, folks (even those who proclaim otherwise) will get behind the Dem candidate.

But I do wish we could elevate the level of discourse (on all sides) and really engage in educational debate versus the "neener, neener" hit-and-run postings.
