Edwards remains the best candidate, regardless of the poll results.

I am walking my precinct and find that a lot of people are voting based on race, gender and age. Many, many voters do not know that John Edwards is running.

When I tell them about Edwards, they are very interested, look amazed and promise to check into him. They immediately look at the materials I give them.

The press is managing this race. It has covered it as if it were a race, gender and age duel between Obama and Hillary. The media knows that this pitting candidates against each other based on race, gender and age will split and weaken our party. I go to houses, and as I walk away, I hear the son say to the mother or the husband to the wife, "You are voting for Hillary, aren't you?" as if a woman would, of course, vote for a woman.

I knock on doors and a person under 35 answers and a huge percentage say they are for Obama. Most of these people cannot tell you why, although some are honest to say, "I think Obama will change things," but not what he will change.

People are very grateful to hear about Edwards and thank me for coming by and telling them about him.

1. that's opinion. it's yours. it's important to you but the

attitude about how people just don't know any better is condescending. In my group, we're all highly educated very political and the vast majority support Obama. And that's true throughout Vermont.
