***********BIG OBAMA ENDORSEMENT RUMORED FOR SUNDAY***********
Sweet: Obama wins South Carolina. His way. Big endorsement coming Sunday?

COLUMBIA, S.C.--Barack Obama clinchedt he South Carolina Democratic primary on Saturday after a race with a nasty tone where former President Bill Clinton's aggresive push for his wife became an issue.

In a state where race played a roll, and with a hefty black electorate, exit polls showed that Obama snared a whooping 81 per cent of the African-American vote and the white splitting between the three rivals.

Obama delivers a victory speech at 9 p.m. eastern, and I hear that Obama will talk about how his victories in Iowa and South Carolina--states with vastly different popullations--show that his "movement" politics are taking hold.

And that big endorsement I hear is coming....the two biggest out there are Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass) and former Vice President Al Gore.

52. I think you're right.
Obama hasn't earned a green endorsement. Kennedy perhaps.

If Gore backed anyone it should be Edwards. He's got much better environmental positions than the other two.

15. It's going to be Gore. Here's why.
Obama has said if he could pass "only one piece of legislation" during his Presidency it he would choose an energy bill.

His first ads in California were about taking on big oil and Detroit.

He says he talks to Gore every few weeks.

It's Gore.

39. heh. Besides that, he wants to focus on his message...
it seemed to me that when I was watching the Global Economy forum that both he and Bono were asked this question (ie. who's the best candidate for their agendas on extreme poverty and climate crisis) and they both deftly sidestepped the question by re-focusing back on the issues of the forum.

These guys are passionate about their causes and have learned that when the camera is finally on you and your topic, you've got to stay on-point.

Just like Jimmy Carter. By endorsing a candidate before the convention, he'd be getting back into politics.

I pray you are right about Gore remaining neutral so he can serve as a broker at the convention - if that is what you mean. It is most definitely what I want.

34. DId you guys hear about Gore making a video last week strongly in favor of gay marriage? Air America
ran it and were wondering why he released it at this time. My thought, even as I heard it, was that maybe he is saying what's on his mind because an endorsement is upcoming and that endorsement would possibly strengthen Obama's somewhat shaky stance with the gay community. Just a thought.

met with, talked to, phoned, and emailed by us locals in an effort to get him to endorse. I don't know why he won't cuz he is an Obama supporter. (Or so I've been told, heh, *wink*.)

One more big endorsement for Obama and hopefully Dennis will follow, or maybe he'll just give in. We are being very persistent.

The Kansas caucuses and Missouri primary are coming up soon, and a Dennis Moore endorsement will help Obama in both states. (Don't ask me why; it's complicated.)

either a Carter or Gore endorsement would have a big impact on Super Tuesday. I don't think a Kennedy endorsement would mean as much outside of Massachusetts. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

I believe Gore will endorse Obama and actively campaign with Senator Obama ahead of Super Tuesday and California. Some believe this will most likely deliver the nomination to Obama (in delegate count) the evening of the California primary.
