Obama supporters: A 15% win will be better for your candidate in SC than a 30% win
For reasons that are clear to anybody paying attention.

Don't get too excited about a blowout. Two edge sword.

to bode poorly for his campaign. For reasons that are clear to anybody paying attention. :eyes:

8. A minute ago you said the results were "expected" and it was time to move on
Now you are saying it is better for Obama if the results are to be expected?

Another lame post from DU's lamest poster.

21. If that holds up, it will be a bigger story than any margin of an Obama win.
It will also shatter any illusions of him being "the black candidate".

11. If the exit polls are even remotely correct...
Obama WILL NOT come out of this with the label of the "black candidate."

No, he did well across the board and I congratulate him.

12. exactly
otherwise the media will spin it as a blowout simply because of the overwhelming support he received from those who make up the majority of the voting bloc in SC.

A tighter win is better, although I think the media will then start asking how he fares with those groups Clinton generally does much better with: Hispanics/Latinos, older voters, women, Democrats, etc.

24. Yeah
Because the majority of Americans want to make sure that the Black Man stays in his place. :sarcasm:

A blowout will demoralise the other side. A close loss for her opponents will galvanize them. Fortunately I don't think that this race will be as much about race as all those people out there who are hoping to have their negative worldview validated.

Remember young voters are coming out in force and young voters are generally MUCH less racist.

25. Keep it up people..
keep letting the media define the race as blacks and whites, in the long run Obama will have to keep making up excuses for everything he says some are already saying that he is going to do more for blacks than whites.

31. We understand it is the Clintons strategy. They are not that subtle about that. However, 1/4 of
white South Carolinians and a plurality of white men in NH were not fooled by these comments.

36. Oh and
I think he will do more for blacks than whites... Perhaps not directly in policy but though I'm an Edwards supporter I think Obama would be a good pres, and by being so potentially show a lot of morons out there that black people are not inferior.

Though he probably would in policy as well. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm of the opinion that there's nothing wrong with helping black people. They have the worst end of a bad stick in this country. When two of your friends are in quicksand who do you help first? The guy up to his head in it or the guy up to his knees? Seems lke a no brainer to me.

But yeah the media needs to get the fuck off of race already. Disgusting.

30. you should be very clear when talking about points like this.
im understanding you to mean that obama might get branded a "black" candidate, or something to that effect. in other words your not a racist, but other people might be. thats fine, but your meaning seems so vague, for black people on this forum you could at least be more clear. Would that be asking too much?

35. If I'm interpreting the OP correctly, that would be correct.
The media would not do this, it would just be obvious to other voters, and there would be a divide.
