1. He wasn't Sharptonized. He may win.

I have seen this game played in mayoral elections NYC 2001 - it's why we have a GOP mayor.

I think it would be good for Edwards to win his birth state

4. That is one reason why my
multi-racial family has stuck by him. Every single one of us.

5. Had he been doing better he may have been accused of it.
Laurence O'Donnell did that hit piece on Edwards, that he would be viewed as the white man standing in the way of a black mans Presidency.

7. That argument wouldn't fly. Edwards has run the cleanest campaign
As a minority supporters of his I am proud that Edwards hasn't used the race and gender cards. You would think, given our history, that if anyone would (you would hope NO Democrat would!) it would be the white male.

11. He was slicker about it. He just didn't say anything, not even to condemn it.

13. It's not "slickness" ... it's courtesy.
He reiterated his support for civil rights and women's rightsAnd he talked about the necessity for universal health care and many other things to benefit all of us.

That "condemns it" better than mere rhetoric.

14. Why would he condemn both campaigns for race-baiting and join them in the mud?
