Question to "Progressives" from a Kerry supporter
I've supported John Kerry since the early stages of the primaries. I believe he is the best man for the job. However, I've always said that I would support whoever the dem nominee is because I believe that all of them would be better than Bush. I've never attacked Dean, even when he was the "frontrunner", and I've never attacked Kucinich, Sharpton, or Braun. In fact I praise all of them on a regular basis. I think that the party should include everybody as far right as Joe Lieberman and people as far left as Kucinich, or even more left than him. I believe that although we disagree on a great number of issues, that we all share common goals as democrats. My point is this. I understand if you don't want to support John Kerry now or even in novermber, your vote is your vote and you can choose what you want to do with it. But why do you insist on calling my candidate a Republican? I've never called your candidates radicals or far leftists or communists or anything like that. I think that almost all democrats (Zell Miller not included) are far better than most of the Republicans. The way that democrats vote MOST OF THE TIME and what they say most of the time is far better than what the Republicans say and how they vote. Why can't we all just get along?

1. You make great points.
I supported Clark. He lost. I would have been proud to support any of the other candidates. It sure looks like Kerry. I will work hard to support his election. I think that there is a pretty wide support among the democratic forces on here to support anyone but bush. On the other hand, there are some people who (A) probably are on here to disrupt, believing that this will help bush; or (B) are frustrated para-"marxists" who think that with Dean out, the time is ripe to teach the masses their beliefs. Now, I am the first to say that Kerry is not perfect. He will not solve all of our nation's problems. But he is a step in the right direction. Which is a lot more than can be said of this new wave of people pretending them represent marxist thought. If we take a close look, not only is that claim foolish, but the real "marxists" in this country were a sad failure in every venture they attempted.

2. Agreed, Kerry is far from perfect...
And no he won't solve all of our nation's problems or even come close because I don't think any man on the face of this earth could do that right now. But I think he would make a damn good president and since I have yet to see a messiah running for president, damn good is fine with me.
