Poll question: If Edwards doesn't get the nod, would you like to see him attorney general?
I sure would, and rumors(?) are that he's being offerered the spot by both Clinton and Obama should either one of them get the nod. Obviously, if he doesn't stage a comeback (still possible) he's going to be courted by the eventual nominee, possibly at a brokered convention. I think he would enjoy attorney general more than VP...and he could do a lot for the country in that role.

So, if Edwards is not our nominee, would you like to see him be our next attorney general?

1. I've thought that's his best destiny since '04
and I still do.

What he hopes to accomplish is best accomplished as the AG.

7. It was reported on Washington Journal today (CSPAN) that the Obama
Campaign is quietly saying John Edwards will be Attorney General in an Obama Administration.

I didn't catch the source, but Washington Journal will probably be repeated later in the day.

I cannot imagine a better choice for AG.

14. That rumor and $2 can get you on the NYC Subway
But that rumor may also get Obama some timely votes, while helping wean some Edwrds supporters from voting for Edwards in the remaining primaries in favor of Obama instead. Rumors are as cheap as air and just as substantitive. Obama will not be accused of violating a rumor if he becomes our nominee and this does not come to pass.

10. As AG, Edwards would be the Republicans' worst nightmare.
He's like an "energizer bunny/pitbull."

I would so like to see this Republican nightmare come true.

12. Not to be a wet blanket, but anyone think he's a bit underqualified?
No DOJ experience, no experience in the federal court system etc. Senate repubs would bring this up during confirmation...
