Dammit, I'm sick of hearing about how "successful" the surge supposedly is when our economy is falling apart.

How much money have we wasted on Iraq and Afghanistan now? It must be over 2 trillion bucks now.

I can't believe that son of a bitch might be elected president. And didn't he say he doesn't know anything about economics? I wouldn't be surprised.

1. Recall that prior to 9/11 there wasn't enough money to pay for anything
There was going to be a round of belt tightening. The only thing that motivates Washington is the threat that somebody is going to get them. Otherwise, that money would have never been printed, particularly for use at home.

2. Imagine...

if one week of the costs to stay in Iraq (roughly $2-1/2 billion) had been spent invested each year on renewable fuels research--starting about 30 years ago (OPEC embargo was 35 years ago). Decreased, of course, as solutions became available.

Senator McEndlessWarPig will require a draft to do what he wants to do.

4. Watched a little bit of McCain on c-span tonight pandering
to Florida hispanics. It is guaranteed that McCain will continue to follow the Bush administration policies, everything from war on Iran, everlasting presence in Iraq to bringing down Castro. He is one sick cookie in body and soul.

5. .....and what's even worse is that McCain is now calling Phil Gramm
an Honorable man and will probably be the next secretary of state.

Phil and Wendy Gramm are the biggest goddamn thieves' this country has ever seen. They both belong in prison, or with Raygun.
