Newsweek's Alter: Clinton misleading ads are targeted for less educated Democrats
But instead of moving on to another line of attack with more grounding in what Bill Clinton called "indisputable facts," the Clinton campaign decided to bet that this Reagan horse could be flogged for more votes among less educated voters in South Carolina who might be inclined to believe Hillary's preposterous version.

Less educated? Yes, downscale voters are their target group. Obama is stronger among well-educated Democrats, according to polls. So the Clintons figure that maybe their base among less educated white Democrats might be receptive to an argument that assumes they're dumb. Less well-educated equals gullible in the face of bogus attack ads. That's the logic, and the Clintons are testing it in South Carolina before trying it in Super Tuesday states. They are also road-testing major distortions of Obama's positions on abortion, Social Security and the minimum wage.

4. I swear this seems familiar .... where do I remember this from?
 They've learned a lot from the Bush years. I don't want the Democratic Party to become what we've hated in BushCo.

11. Hillaryworld motto: It's The Stupidity, Stupid
It's been proven that people that aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer are suckers for Hillaryworld. They do have apoint...there are a lot of stupid people out there. Just look at what's on TV these days.

12. Another reporter drinking the Kool-Aid!!!
Poor little Obama, the mean Clintons are picking on him.

Gag me!!!

Alter is an elitist prick!!! There are plenty of Hillary supporters who are well educated and have graduate degrees. Im one of them and so are most of the people who work in her campaign offices here in NJ. There are a few union guys and housewives, but the majority of us are either college students or professionals. Alter can stuff his condescending crap up his derogatory ass!!!!!

:grr:

15. And who would "less educated Democrats be?" Those the Clintons are pandering to?
And Jonathan Alter, of course, as a "Beltway Boy" isn't going to really have any kind of compassion for folks who aren't lunching from his own "golden fork"...would he.

What a bunch of condescending hog swill... :puke: I used to read Jonathan Alter before he "turned." I know he was ill with cancer just before the Plame Gate problems and had a long slog back...but along the way he turned. He now is "one of the Media Whores" and not an independent like he seemed to be before his illness.

He often even seems "smarmy" when he appears as a pundit. I think life in DC reporting on slime politics might do that to you after awhile...but so could some money "passed into your back pocket" when you have health problems and you had to take time out and then get back on your feet. Not claiming this is what happened to Alter...but, it wouldn't be the first time the Corporate Media managed to "do a good deed in the back pocket" for pay backs of subtle loyalty.

19. Are you assuming all Democrats are well educated? They're not.
And yes, the Clintons are shrewd politicians, and will capitalize on those they know they can easily influence by distorting the truth.

20. I'm saying that talking about folks not "well educated" leaves out folks with "horse sense"
and that used to me to us who are older...a person who has education beyond "book learning" and advanced degrees of those who report our "news." That's what I'm talking about. He has demeaned a group of voters as uneducated or less educated...and he's supposed to be a "liberal leaning" reporter. HA! (to paraphrase a Tweety laugh!)

16. Ha Ha Ha
It reminds me of the old saw about Adlai Stevenson...Somebody told him "all the intelligent people are voting for you"...Adlai said "but I want to win."

And not everybody grew up in a middle to upper middle class home like Jonathan and had all the attendant benefits that come with it...

18. Is Karl Rove hidden in the back of Hillary's press plane?
Cause if I didn't know any better, I'd swear this is the same shit the GOP pulls all the time. They take advantage of those less educated and uninformed; FOX News does it all the time.
