Poll question: When You Get Candidate E-Mail, Do You "Hear" the Words in Their Voice?
Last January, I was so excited when I signed up to receive reminders and action alerts.

Now, when I get the e-mails, I am torn: on the one hand, it's sometimes humorous to read the headlines and content; on the other hand, sometimes I get a scary preview of what addresses to the nation, SOTUs, etc. would sound like.

When you get e-mail from candidates and their more prominent surrogates, do you hear the e-mail in their voice?

2. Nope. They're written by media advisors, not the candidate.
A candidate who can speak, who knows his or her own voice, won't change. They'll use the speechwriters as a starting point, not mindlessly parrot what is put down for them.

4. Do what you will...they're interesting documents, they convey what the
campaigns were up to..

Most leaders don't write their own shit. They just "pee on the tree" (make corrections, sometimes massive ones, on draft documents).

5. The Best Writers Are Ents...
... and learn how to disabuse the candidate of that practice right quick.
