Leahy castigates Bill for "glib cheap shots" at Obama which are "not helping the Democratic Party"
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 10:57 AM by jefferson_dem
In Washington, Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.), who endorsed Obama last week, castigated the former president for what he called his "glib cheap shots" at Obama, saying both sides should settle down but placing the blame predominantly on Clinton.

"That's beneath the dignity of a former president," Leahy told reporters, adding: "He is not helping anyone, and certainly not helping the Democratic Party."

1. How disappointing that Leahy has to take time out of all the work he's been doing for us
to reprimand Bill like he's a small child.

2. Daniel Schorr noted that Bill Clinton has tossed his positive message into the trash bin...
...in an observation on All Things Considered last night. I am sure that he and the boss figured out that they might have to go negative when she started the campaign.

3. But then Schorr was blasting Clinton in 2001 for his EO declaring National Parks

in Nevada (around Grand Canyon)
So this is really a reunion of old enemies you're highlighting
Pool loggers of Nevada were being slighted by Clinton's executive order. Schorr still pines for his days when he was covering JKK's sex life (covering as in - not reporting it)

8. Where Was Schorr when Bush was Lying?
These news people should be so ashamed of themselves and their complicity before the invasion of Iraq that they'd never speak out again except to apologize. Where were they when all those lies were being told? They were repeating them to the American public.
They have blood on their hands.

17. Shame on you. He was doing what he's long been doing-
speaking out. And Dan spoke out about bush and Iraq very early. You have no fucking clue as to what you're blathering about. Dan was high on Nixon's enemy list and he's never looked back and never compromised.

Shame. shame. shame.

13. I don't really remember that
post a link. He may well have endorsed Lieberman in the primary, but I know he didn't do any work on his behalf as did Clinton. It's pretty well known that Lieberman and Leahy are not fast friends. Pat did endorse your candidate when she ran for the Senate. Wasn't that nice of him?

14. K&R
"Glib cheap shots".....perfect.

I supported Bill and believed in him right up to the Rich Pardon.
Since then, he has earned my contempt, especially Best Buddying aroung with Poppy and lending an air of legitimacy to the Bush administration. With ALL his blood money, Bush could NOT have bought the respect that Bill wrapped aroung his evil shoulders. I wonder what Bill got out of the deal?.....an unopposed Hillary candidacy?

I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

15. A man who was president should not be acting like this.
He is like a bully that no one can stop because he was a president.

16. Barack has been very good to Dems his campaigning for colleagues has bumped up their donations...
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 01:50 PM by cooolandrew
...The amount Barack has done for the party to maintain themselves can only show why he is endorse by Leahy, Boxer, Feingold. As president his poplarity in the party will on favour him getting things done. It should be encouraging to see the party jump to his defense in this respect.
