The most interesting thing from the new Zogby Poll is Obama's black support in SC may be collapsing
http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1433

Obama still has a healthy lead among African American voters, but lost almost nine points since yesterday, dropping from 65% to 56% support among that group. Edwards, who registered no support from black voters the day before, picked up five points and Clinton added about two points to reach 18% of black support. Nearly one in five - 19% - of black voters said they were not sure for whom they would vote, which was up a point from the day before.

1. we win either way
So we win either way. If his black support drops then Billary can't paint it as Barack won due to overwhelming black support. Great!!!! YAH!

2. but then you get hit on the expectations
The expectation is Obama wins by 15% and creams everyone in the black vote taking 80%. If he wins by 5% and only gets 55% of the black vote, that's a huge loss in the expectations.

3. nah
Nah don't think so. That black support isn't going to Hillary, it will only be a story if she picks up significant amts of black voters which is unlikely, if anything they will go to Edwards. Hillary isn't going to gain black support trust me. The expectation isn't taht he wins by 15%, i haven't heard this from anywhere except you. If he wins and picks up some more white voters, taht will be enough of a story.

4. you forgot that Obama added 8-points among males and now is at 50%
and Edwards is now at 23% among males up four points while Hillary is at 19% among males. What is she going to do about this gender gap?

10. he'll get a boost out of SC as will Edwards if he comes in second
pretty bad strategy on Hillary's part to concede SC. Say what you will about Obama but he hasn't conceded any states and neither has Edwards. She is proving, apparently, that she can't play in red states.

7. SC is a red state
and of not a lot of significance. Which is why she took off immediately after the debate.

13. This reminds me:: ON every cable channel when new
polls were read, I found it most significant that
a reporter, not the person reading the poll , stepped
out and said I would not take these polls to seriously.
They were being very serious.

This happened just before the NH vote. It appeared
no one listened to them then.

14. I think the most interesting thing is that
both Obama's support is slipping and Hillary's support is simply collapsing around her. Those two better get their acts together.

15. Actually something much more interesting is happening

Since the debate, Obama and Clinton have dropped and Edwards has been rising," said pollster John Zogby. "There is definitely some movement here

17. Thanks for sharing this chart.
It looks to me like Obama still has a solid lead over the other two.

Or maybe I don't know how to read charts? :eyes:

16. The most interesting thing is Hillary sliding from 1st to 3rd place in just 3 weeks.
It is a stretch to claim that Obama's support among AA voters is collapsing.

It's normal that people are thinking seriously about who they should vote for.

If Obama wins South Carolina, it will give his campaign extra momentum.

If Hillary comes third in South Carolina, it will hurt her campaign.
