Lost in the shuffle: the bottom line is, we need a tough nominee to stand up to the GOP
and Obama ain't the one.

If he keeps running crying to Mommy every time Hillary or Bill gives him a wedgie, what the fuck is he going to do as the nominee when the GOP hits him below the belt?

1. I'm fully convinced this guy is

only running as a democrat to get elected, he's clearly a republican really inside, no other explanation.

He's too happy to envelop the Republicans, thats really really bothering me.

place of my birth. Having dead folks vote is a tradition down there. Corruption isn't a problem in Louisiana, it's an art form.

to know that Bush stole 2 elections via vote manipulation.

Whether the manipulated was dead or not is another matter.

Edwards is the only candidate centered and strong enough to fight the GOP.

23. The Clintons have not been savaging Edwards every day in the press
If Edwards was under the extreme adversity that Obama finds himself under, I'm not sure how he would react. I like Edwards. I basically think all three of the candidates are good people. But I didn't like the way Edwards performed in the debates with Cheney in 2004. He didn't come off as a fighter to me and was too agreeable.

15. There's a lot to be said for experience ...
This type of campaign is unlike what he's been through thus far. It's a learning process, one Edwards went through in 2004.

It's not necessarily a fair process - everyone gets beat up unfairly and brutally at some point, and in one form or another - kind of an initiation, or so it seems.

Regardless of how this plays out, he will have learned an awful lot during this primary season regarding the political battlefield, media interaction, etc.

I think you're selling my man Barack a little short but thats just my opinion.

I'll just be happy when all the snipings over. I love John Edwards, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton all three and I can't wait to get excited about whichever one of them wins. I hope two of them wind up on the ticket!

But remind me not to get on your bad side....

Hon, bottom line is this country is NOT ready to elect a black man.

I hope, however, I live to see it in my lifetime.

And "I" will be happy when the sniping is over, too.

What happened to the good ole days when we laughed at Republicans sliming one another?

46. Hanging around....just back from a weekend in New Orleans for the VERY lewd
Krewe du Vieux parade. Its the kickoff to Mardi Gras next month and its the bawdiest of the bunch. We stayed at a gay B&B in the Marigny and ate at HerbSaint, one of the 50 top restaurants in America. I'm still on a cloud!

If Barack had a few more years in the senate, he'd be unstoppable. As it is, I really believe he is electable-maybe I'm a total fool but I think he has a solid chance. Maybe not in the America I grew up in, but I'm starting to believe that things may have changed. Maybe we really have matured.

I've spent a lot of today having fun watching heads explode at Free Republic. First, his Holiness Ronald Reagan II (Fred Thompson) quit the race and there was GREAT weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth (literally thousands of heartsick posts). Then patron saint of the BORDER FENCE Duncan Hunter endorsed Huckabee who the freepers seem to feel is immigrations anti-Christ. Its like we'd be if Gore endorsed Zell Miller.

They are wetting themselves with self-pity over the death of the republic. Its the most fun I've had all year (its still early though!).

"Two things....come visit and bring money!"

Its not quite the same but everybody is trying really hard to make it the New Orleans we remember. Bless their hearts they deserve any support they can get.

The parade, BTW was absolutely wicked! Definitely NOT family fare...

This is good practice for him. He needs to toughen up and quit whining.

34. Hillary is not the one...
Does anyone really think that HRC Corp. can really beat the
Rethugs when Saint Bill of the Dogmatic Triangulation needed
Perot in the race for him to win in 92 and 96? You DLCers
need to come to acceptance that Hillary is HATED by everyone
but Dems who think that electing the wife will get you the
husband (which is the same stupid mistake that the Rethugs did
when they thought electing the son will get them the father).
The Rethugs hate Hillary so much that they will rise from the
dead to vote against her. I think we would be better served
in the GE if we had a candidate that can pull some indies and
Rethugs, or, at least, allow them to "stay at home"
on election day. I think the polling will show that Edwards
or Obama would be better in the general election.
