1. Let's Give Zell a Chance...
to look at all the Democrats right in the eye & explain why he deserves to be there.

Something tells me he'll decline anyways.

5. No
no other admitted republican would be welcome there, why should he? It is sort of like knowing a wolf is dressed in sheep clothing and letting him in the hen house cuz he says he is a sheep. Letting Miler there makes about as much sense as my stupid analogy *LOL*.

If he does speak, I hope he's booed loudly and throughout the entire speech.

If he walks in. I wonder who would be less welcome at the convention Zell, or Nader.

11. Yes
Of course he should. He is a democrat isn't he? Just because he is conservative democrat doesn't mean he should be shunned does it? That doesn't sound like very democratic thing to do, shunning people.

12. being a conservative Democrat isn't the problem
that POS endorsed Bush. Why should he be allowed to the convention to choose the nominee when he doesn't even support the nominee?

17. He should not be allowed to speak.
But I think he should get a seat, because he's at least voting for Daschle. And I imagine he's probably given the Democratic party a boost Georgia, and he helped us out in the past. But no speech for him.

23. He doesn't mean that he's voting for daschle inside the caucus...
Which he may very well be doing but that's not the point. He votes democratic/daschle for organizational purposes and didn't switch to the Republicans when Jeffords came to our side. Because of this, he had my respect until he endorsed Bush.

the convention is about choosing our nominee and boosting his campaign. He doesn't support the nominee, so why should he be there?

25. The convention is a big political rally for the nominee, after he's chosen
Zell Miller doesn't support the nominee and thus should not be invited.

33. Zell Miller has endorsed Bush for reelection and will campaign for him
The Georgia delegation should yank Miller's superdelegate credentials.

I expect to see Zell on TV attacking the Democrats and defending Bush during the convention.

Miller already said that he is forming a Democrats for Bush group.

15. Read why he shouldn't be allowed in anywhere.....
On February 11 , 2004 Dominionist leaders in congress made their move; they introduced a bill in both houses called The Constitution Restoration Act of 2004. Among the sponsors of the bill are Rep. Robert Aderholt (Alabama), Rep. Michael Pence (Indiana), Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama, Sen. Zell Miller (Georgia), Sen. Sam Brownback (Kansas), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (South Carolina).

Can anyone name things really for what they actually are. Clean air act, No child left behind.....

43. That act, if passed, would be soooo unconstitutional.
Even a conservative Supreme Court would strike it down. I don't think even Fat Tony wants anybody telling him what cases he can and cannot hear -- as evidenced by his refusal to recuse himself in cases involving his hunting buddies.

Marbury v. Madison: It is distinctly the role of the judiciary to say WHAT THE LAW IS.

34. hmm...
When I first saw that question I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt... That he's still a Democrat, albeit a conservative one... But then I remembered that he endorsed Bush (who could forget?!?) and that solidified my stance... As an elected official what does it matter if he calls himself a Democrat when he endorses a man despised by most Democrats in an election year?

Zell's a joke... I hear he used to really bring home the beef in his early days but his slide towards the Repugs seems to have also been a slide to irrelevance.

Zell and W. make me :puke:

Best,
Mike

miller has declared for bush. he has no legitimate purpose at the democratic convention, unless he wants to stir up shit and if he does i hope to hell a couple of senators, namely hillary clinton and barbara boxer beat his frigging ass with a crowbar.

41. you are using Nader-esque tactics
Nader claimed there was no difference between the parties by using out of context quotes and stances while completely ignoring every single issue they were different on. You are doing the same to argue that there is no difference between the frontrunners and Zell Miller.

42. You feel that certain Democrats fall too far outside of what you
consider to be "good" Democratic behavior (or stances or ideals) - so do I. You draw your line on a particular area of the sand - I draw mine in a different area. I am not a Nader supporter and I don't use his tactics - any more than you use those of the Republicans.

It's one thing to be a conservative southern Democrat, but it's quite another when you've endorsed the Republican candidate and written entire books bashing your own party. We simply cannot allow that kind of behavior in our party.
