I'm a Kerry supporter based on the issues and his front runner status, but now that Wes Clark's out of the race, I'd say Edwards best represents the American Dream... He grew up poor, made something of himself, raised a family, and made money. That's what the mythic American Dream seems to be about.

I'm uneasy about the lawyer thing but he was good at what he did. I still like Clark's military story better though, overall.

6. I like Kucinich but I don't really think he seems like the American dream

being a twice divorced career politician doesn't strike me that way. I know people will say I'm thinking about the status quo or whatever but sorry.

wasn't born rich, but attained wealth later in life. I think that's the definition of the American Dream, as expressed by most people.

He wasn't born of modest means. He went to Yale and was in Skull and Bones... Come on, Magic Rat.

He did earn his real world creds though, in Vietnam... Which proves that in America it doesn't matter how wealthy your parents were but what you did with your life.

I'm still with Edwards on the American Dream thing... If General Clark were still a candidate I'd probably say him because I view the military as a slightly more honorable profession than the law.

Regardless, I'm still a Kerry supporter.

Wes Clark, grew up, of modest means, went on to achieve the highest rank in his profession.

He didn't make the kind of money as others, but served his country his entire life.

His personal life seems as great as his career: one wife, to who he seems devoted, & a wonderful son, who is crazy about his Dad. And a wonderful new grandchild.

Coming from modest means in Arkansas, sounds like the American dream to me!!!
