New Hillary Campaign Video Hits Obama On Health Care
"Here's a first look at a new video that the Hillary campaign has just created hitting Obama on health care. It purports to show that Obama -- contrary to what he said at the debate yesterday -- advocated for single payer health care in principle and in practice in a speech he gave to the AFL-CIO on June 30, 2003."

2. I am wondering -
perhaps Obama was talking out of his ass and didn't know the difference between single-payer and universal back then???

5. My question is why did she wait so long to question Obama's record?

7. hitting him right before Super Tuesday
is much more effective than hitting him earlier in the race. Any momentum he's gathering -- which may not be much with two losses in a row and a completely anticipated win coming up in SC -- would be truncated with an ad as damaging as this.

I almost think she led him into a trap last night, getting him to say "I never said that" and then running footage of him saying just that.

A more seasoned politician would have seen it a mile away and avoided it like the plague. Obama isn't a seasoned politician and will be eaten alive in the General Election.

8. Seems to me she totally set him up.
I don't think Obama is used to being called on his shit. In that regard, he acts like a Republican- tell a lie, tell it three times, after three times it becomes a fact.

Is it possible he did not know about this clip?

10. it's possible he assumed it would never be used
and, if Hillary set him up that easily, what in the hell are the repugs going to do to him in November?! With the Rezko trial beginning late next month and the NY Times running a sizable piece on his association with Rezko, the repugs will have a field day with it.

On Health Care, she's done him a favor by bringing this up. He has an opportunity now to get his facts in order, clarify what was said before, admit he's changed his mind and then address the issues in his plan she and Edwards pointed out. If he chooses to ignore this chance -- thinking it will go away and he won't have to answer for it --, he only has himself to blame when he gets creamed with it later.

I sometimes feel like his Campaign Advisers are the Keystone Cops! Only not as organized.

6. Why are the front runners supporting the medical industrial complex?
Americans want single payer.

If the candidates won't back a Medicare For All program, they should just stfu about it.

Jeebus.

The Repubs will sink us on this in the GE.

14. and fast!
they must have known he would eventually say something boneheaded like that and had the other footage ready.

Now they need to run it in SC, CA, NY, NJ, PA, MO, WA, OR, CO, AL, OH, MN and everywhere else people are hurting for health care but haven't yet bought into the Obama Myth.
