I Didn't Like The Wal-Mart Shot Or The Rezko Shot
Both were underhanded, imho...

Hillary became a corporate lawyer because somebody in that family had to make money... The Arkansas governor's job only paid $35,000.00... And unless you can demonstrate that Obama knew Rezko was "dirty" he's not responsible for his actions...

In last night's debate Edwards came off as the most likeable...

Carry on...

1. Maybe Obama didn't know Rezko was dirty, but he sure knew about the slums.
I don't think you are giving Obama a pass on this double-trouble issue; I am merely pointing out the fact that Obama didn't do too much about the slum lords of the Chicago area.

2. well, not to sound like a third-grader, but
she started it. She went on the attack from the get-go. The Wal-Mart quip was him fighting back against her, and the Rezko thing was her flailing away from something that would make him look bad - and I don't think it worked because the people watching had no idea what she was talking about, whereas people could get right away what being on the Board at Wal-Mart meant.

6. This Is What I Expected When I Started The Thread
I'm not pointing you out...I knew the Clinton partisans would say Hillary's shot was fair and I knew the Obama partisans would say the Obama shot was fair...

3. Someone had to make money, but....
You remind me of a bad episode of L. A. Law -- "Sure, she was a hired thug and a drug dealer. But she had children to feed and her husband was barely earning poverty wages; someone in the family had to have a steady income."

Also, keep in mind that the Clintons were quite wealthy without any active income. Or do you really think one can get elected governor of any state without a very large personal store of money?

4. I do not think they help the Party.
The Prize is the WH and the Clinton's want it. I frankly do not want another Bush/Clinton in the WH. Seems like years of these two families. At this rate we can count on McCain, if we are lucky, not to get any of those other guys. I do not see Clinton taking Obama as Vice if she gets to be the Party person. He would out shine her and we do have her husbands ego to deal with. Does any one really think she will be-able to keep him out of the business of running the govt. if she gets in? I think Bill did a fine job but lets leave him in the past. Why is it the Carter seems to be the only ex with any class? I am not sure which ones turn me off the most. The ones out to make money or hold on to power.

10. I liked them both
Yay, mudslinging! Made a much more interesting debate. And, these are both true, so it's fair to hold them both accountable for their actions.

11. Just remember that we only throw this s--t against the walls of the candidates,
because the evil repubs will do it later.

We would never engage in tactics such as this if it were not for those bad guys over there. We would be discussing issues, votes, dreams, etc. Alas we are forced down to the swift-boating level of the repubs. ;)

12. What I really don't like is that those two shots are the only thing being reported...
in what was the most substantial debate the Democratic candidates have had.

14. The remainder of the debate was irrelevant
I was emphasizing that to my dad as it went on. There was no way the media was going to highlight anything but the opening barbs in the first half hour.

I'm an Edwards supporter but obviously he has no chance and I've been pulling for Hillary over Obama. Last night I was shocked at how petty she was. Particularly the comment directed at Obama that sparked the boos, "Debating you is..." It was so snobbish and unnecessary I wanted to call her out face to face.

A national frontrunner should know better. She has a foundational advantage toward the nomination and only implosion can change that. Obama can be perfect in every response and he still falls short of the nomination. Last night Hillary was a pathetic handicapper, apparently not realizing that a deficit in South Carolina doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. She needed to stay above the fray and not reinforce the old stereotypes about her as polarizing and unlikeable. Last night she blew it.

13. No, get it out, account for it.
I lean towards Obama--and I think, if he's had a misstep, an error in judgment, then get it out in the open and have him account for it, how he'll make up for it--and move on. We know our leaders aren't going to be perfect--or we should know that--better to have them honest and open--and to have learned something from their mistakes--and become better for it.

I'm tired of the hidden stuff that grows bigger the longer it is put away.
