John Edwards Is The Right Choice
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 11:04 PM by RestoreGore
I am truly proud of Mr. Edwards tonight in this debate. He stayed on message, was fair in his comments, did not get involved in the exchanges between Clinton and Obama which turned me off, and spoke so sincerely about ending poverty in this country. He spoke truth regarding being the first to present an economic stimulus package, and also a climate change platform. Matter of fact, I thought I heard Sen. Clinton use his term "green collar jobs." There is no mistaking he is setting the debate of this campaign and as far as I am concerned, tonight he not only came off as the most sincere and the most passionate, but the most believable. For me, I need to see real caring for not just the issues, but for the people they effect and truly believe what is said can be accomplished, and I see that with John Edwards. I do not see that with Barack Obama and only minimally with Sen. Clinton. Frankly, Obama came off to me as very smug and he looked absolutely uncomfortable and unable to really explain himself on questions asked. I only had one other real problem with this debate besides the exchanges: WHERE WAS THE QUESTION ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING CNN? Had it not been for Edwards and Clinton mentioning it in an answer to a question about the economy, it would once again have gotten no mention. Very disappointing. However, John Edwards did very well tonight and I am proud to be supporting him! Are there more than two people in this debate? Great question Mr. Edwards, and after tonight many more know the answer is YES!

2. It's about time people figured out there's more to the Democratic Party 2008 than
Hillary and Barack.

Some people need to seriously get a clue.

3. Agree - I don't want the DNC ( or the press) picking my candidate for me
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 11:17 PM by Penndems
Maybe I'm just being a contrarian, but why does it have to be either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama? Granted, they're both outstanding candidates, but former Senator Edwards' platform is more in alignment with my personal viewpoints.

If John Edwards does drop out of the race (doubtful; he's already said he's in it through Denver), my support will go to our nominee. Until then, go Johnny go! :)

9. John Edward's Is Running An Al Gore Campaign
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 06:42 AM by RestoreGore
And what I mean by that is, I believe if Al Gore were running he would be talking about climate change as a true emergency as well as staying out of the fray while being dismissed by the corporate media for it. For me, John Edwards most exemplifies the passion of Al Gore for the environment out of all those running and for addressing the core issues, and in that regard he has my vote. No wonder he was on Mr. Gore's short list for VP in 2000. His message is solid, his policy makes sense, and he delivers his thoughts assuredly and sincerely, and I like that.

7. He is leading on climate change
And I truly think McCain would be the nominee for the Republicans because they know this will be an issue after the primaries and McCain is the only candidate really talking about it on that side. So if that is the case we need a strong candidate on this and of all the ones running John Edwards is heads above the rest on this now.

5. He is column fodder right now
You know -- when you have to get 3 bids but have already chosen your supplier and you contact someone to submit a bid so that purchasing thinks you did you due dilligence on "competitiveness"?

*sigh*
