Hillary wins because Hispanics won't vote for an African American. That is something to be really depressed about!

4. Obama is doing very poorly with hispanics
Hillary does worse with men than any other constituent. There does appear to be some racial and sexist trends based on just ratios that is a concern for either candidate in a general election.

10. Yes, there does seem to be a hispanic vs. Af. American thing in this country.
Just based on my observations over the last 20 years. You would think that they would have an affinity for each other's positions in a white society, but they don't seem to. Here in my city, there seems to be some sort of tendency to ...I don't want to say dislike....but not overly like the other. I don't know why that is. Maybe they compete for the same jobs?

8. Yup thats about right

They know this and thats why Obama is now shitting himself.

With the older voter in majority there and so far Barack has performed dismally among over 40's. He's in trouble.

Thats something many do not talk about and the missing link in this whole election. Older voters always vote. The under 30's are flakey and she's carrying older voters by a mile.

The only reason Obama won Iowa was young voters and in a caucus too.

These are not the kind of people who Obama can appeal to. People who take this seriously
are not looking for the "pop" candidate, but people who give real answers to real problems.

Both sides tend to distrust one another...I don't think too many Latinos are going to be voting for Obama because he is black...Obama does not resonate within the Latino community...Cesar Chavez is more important to Latinos...and I don't care how much Obama tries to spin it...he's no Cesar Chavez.<IMO>

16. Hillary has peaked in California

The most recent poll has Clinton 38 and Obama 33 more importantly there is no longer any winner take all. If the recent trends continue Obama may well win the popular vote. In any case there is going to be no 'creaming' the delegate vote will be very tight all around. In New York Obama has moved from the teens to 29.

Obama has shown willingness to ease the embargo and talk to Fidel Castro. Right-wing Cubans prefer Hillary's pandering.
Cubans represent the bulk of the Hispanic population in Florida.

In all seriousness, Cubans were around 30% percent of the Hispanic population seven years ago. With the explosion of the Hispanic population in recent years, I would guess that percentage is far lower today and Mexicans outnumber them.

There is also a split between younger and older Miami Cubans. Younger ones WANT to be able to visit and contact family. They hated the extra restrictions BushCo installed.

Not a vote the Republicans can count on.

Their numbers soar monthly, and they are not republicans. From around 800,000 Cubans in 2001 in the state, to perhaps well over one million from Mexico today.

Hispanics are NOT one amorphous lump. The composition of the Hispanic population in Florida is significantly different from that of California. They may not vote the same at all. (I know a California Cuban who is sincerely sorry he gave money to Bush, but how he'll vote this time? No clue.)

I thought Obama would take the casinos. I wouldn't have the confidence to predict ANYTHING.

Florida and many of them view other Hispanic groups (for instance Mexicans and Puerto Ricans) as beneath them. Since Florida will end up in the Republican column in the general election - who cares.
