Poll question: Do you think Obama's middle name will be a problem in the General Election? Honest, now.
I'm NOT asking whether his middle name matters to you. Rather, will it cost him significant support should he get the nomination?

Please don't flame me. I'm just wondering what the DU community's take is on this at this time.

1. HUGE problem
it's not his name but the extreme ignorance of the American people that is the real problem

9. That's BRILLIANT.
You're right. That's EXACTLY what he should say.

And let this be a lesson to parents everywhere. When going to name little Apple or Moon Unit, ASK YOURSELF, can my child run for president with this name????

4. No more of a problem than say "Rodham" or " Walker" would be. Why do you ask?

10. Sure.
We hunted down and hanged a man with that name, "Hussein." Recently. Did you notice how unpopular the perfectly innocent name "Adolph" became after World War II?

Association is a powerful force in the human mind. Ignore it at your peril.

5. Honestly?
I don't know if it will or not. It's pretty trivial, when you get right down to it. But a LOT of Americans are pretty damn shallow, so... I can't say either way.

13. Thanks. leave it to the "little children" to tell the truth!
I believe that when Obama becomes President The World will once again take a longer look at US with a new eyes of Respect instead of FEAR! That will included the Middle East! The name Hussein may open up doors for a dialog between US and them instead of the fear mongering we have engage in the last 7+ years.
