Did you see Al Sharpton give the media a tongue lashing?
During the debate?

They deserve it. He said just what I was thinking, why do you media think you have to weed out the candidates FOR us?

1. He was,
as always, great. They deserved lots more of that but he did make them squirm a bit and I loved it.

2. The media didn't weed him out, the voters did.
Less than one in thirty voters have voted for him.

3. Maybe so
But I still think he had a valid point about media coverage of candidates.

4. I'd like to point out I have not yet had the chance to vote
yet more than half of the candidates are gone including my choice, Clark. WFT is up with just a few states deciding for ALL OF US who the candidates are? As it is we will NOT end up with the best person to run against Bush and it WILL COST US.

5. according to Dan Blather...
Your attempt to do this is blatant and I'm going to call you out on it," Sharpton told Rather at one point. "I want us to be able to respond."

Replied Blather: "I think you will agree the voters have spoken," referring to the fact that Sharpton and Kucinich have each won fewer than 20 delegates while Kerry has amassed 696 and Edwards has 206.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4413492/

So with 75 percent of the delegates yet to be decided, is it not possible that people can change or make up their minds? Where the !#$* does Dan Blather get off deciding who is worthy of coverage? His job is to be an unbiased moderator and provide fair treatment of all the candidates. Sharpton and DK are in the race, and so long as they are in the race, they should get the same treatment as the two frontrunners. For that matter, Al and Dennis will be in this till the end, as John Edwards will be gone after this Tuesday. I suppose there will be no debates after that.

7. I agree with you
something is wrong with this system; I have not had a voice at all. As for Rather, he lost it when he blubbered his undying support for Bush just after 9/11; he has yet to regain his stature.

6. I just wish all of the candidates would stand up
to these media whores and say "I am not concerned about (gay marriage, etc.) I want to talk about what is important to this country", as Al and DK have tried to do. I'm sure this is one reason they are slighted besides their polling. If all the candidates would take a stand they could stop letting the media use these wedge issues that will only serve their GOP masters.
