Q: Who is your favorite "radio" talk host?
I put "radio" in quotes because, for many of us on our side of the political spectrum, we're really talking podcast or internet streaming.

Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Thom Hartman, Rachel Maddow, Alex Bennett? (you are not limited to my list).

I like Stephanie Miller a lot. I also listen to Ed Schultz frequently. I'll gove honorable mention to Guy James, who is a podcaster out of Florida on Head On network.

2. Stephanie Miller. I do like Ed Schultz.

I avoided him for a long time based on the opinion of DUers.

But like on a lot of things, DUers are wrong wrong wrong.

Like Mike Malloy too, of course.

And Thom Hartman.

4. Mike Malloy!
He speaks for me!
I also like Thom Hartman

I can't hear Alex Bennett anymore on the radio in SF. I used to listen to him. I don't know how he is dealing with current affairs anymore...
I also miss Bernie Ward. I guess we will never hear him again, even if he gets exonerated.
Who knows what really happened there...but I think in this country one is innocent until proven guilty...

Alex is on "Sirius Left" if you get sattelite radio.

9. Miller, Hartmann, Malloy during the week
Seven Days in America on AAR Saturday afternoon, Nate Clay on Saturday night. Sam Seder Sunday afternoons, Peter Werbe on Sunday night.

I can't always tune in but when I do these are my favorites.

16. Randi Rhodes
I've listened to Randi since pre-Air America in West Palm, so I can't believe I left her off. My only problem with Randi is her voice; I love what she has to say, but I can only take her for about an hour and a half before my ears cry foul.

24. Thom Hartmann is the most knowledgable and articulate....
... of the radio lefties. Alas, the show lacks humor and is hard to listen to.

I liked Ron Kuby, the well known radical atty, when he had a long-running drive time slot on a RW station here in NYC; but they canned him recently. Kuby was brilliant and *funny*.

Rachel Maddow is good. I've never really heard Stephanie Miller.

Randi and Sam wear thin real fast. I find myself tuning in NPR.

25. Michelangelo Signorile
He's on Sirius OutQ, but he could be on Sirius Left, because his show is most liberal politics. I am gay, but the gay content of his show isn't why I listen to him. I appreciate his insight into gay politics, but mostly I just consider him to be the most listenable liberal radio host I've heard. I also listen to Malloy a lot, but he's more likely to annoy me. Maddow and Hartmann are hosts I can listen to, but only during the last few months before an election when I have an insatiable appetite for political discussions.

For not being a "pro", Jack Clark's podcast is, pound for pound, excellent...

Besides - he had ME on one of his podcasts!

Jack is *MY* kind of progressive liberal!

29. We who live in Pittsburgh are lucky enough to have;
a local, Lynn Cullen. Can be heard on the net at WPTT, The Point, 1360 AM. weekdays from 9 AM till noon. Nationally, Thom Hartman gives you the facts and history to put your kool aide drinkers in their place. ED Schultz gives you that Midwestern level headed perspective.

30. Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Mike Malloy are the "must listens"
Rachel Maddow, if I'm anywhere near a radio in mid-afternoon when she's on here. Used to listen to Randi when I had XM, but now that she's on 5-8 PM I don't hear much of her, because I'm listening to Malloy live on the Nova M stream.

I'll listen to Schultz on occasion, because he's on during lunch time. He's better than he used to be, but definitely not a favorite.

Seder and Ring of Fire on the weekends. About the only shows left on the AAR weekend schedule that I recognize anymore.
